Brexit stuff in one place [MERGED]

Brexit isn’t fully complete - until Whitehall, and other non-elected officials stop blocking the upside benefits to it at every turn.

What total ■■■ came up with the idea of putting in an injunction against these Illegal Immigrant deportations, for example?

We’ve spent - what? - £120 million so far deporting 0 out of upto 200 (down from the original 1000) which should prove it is a dumb idea that doesn’t work, thanks to bureaucratic sabotage…

Time to come up with another idea, I reckon…

Where’s the PT boats we were promised in the English Channel?

Howcome Skippers of illegal-immigrant carrying vessels - are not being busted and their vessels impounded - for trafficing illegal immigrants across the channel to blighty■■?

Why are our laws as they already are - NOT being enforced?

Why are we still paying money to the EU, still taking yuman rights orders from the ECHR, and not getting anything done?

Why have we got two remainers on the final two for new PM?

The Chinese - want Sunak to win, because he borrows more and more money from them every month… It’s ok if HE does that as chancellor, but Corbyn - wasn’t allowed, because he would commit the ultimate sin of spending such borrowed money on the people actually IN britain, rather than foreign entities, many of them Britain’s ENEMIES…

Truss - isn’t going to be any better, since she chooses to rule out making peace with Putin, the guy with the goods we want - rather than giving away our hard-erned to actual nazis going around killing their own people to make Putin look bad, and attempt to precipitate WWIII… Where’s the wisdom in befriending an already-fallen nation that isn’t our ally to make proxy war against a nuclear superpower we cannot afford to have as our enemy?

“Bad and Worse” - same old same old.

Probably because the EHCR & EU are 2 separate entities.

The European Convention on Human Rights came into effect on 3 September 1953.

In the early 1940s, British Prime Minister Winston Churchill raised the idea of a ‘Council of Europe’. In the wake of World War II and the horrors of the Holocaust, the idea behind the Council of Europe was to set up an international organisation to promote democracy, the rule of law and human rights.

The Council was established by ten states, including the United Kingdom, on 5 May 1949.

On 12 August 1949, Churchill said: “The dangers threatening us are great but great too is our strength, and there is no reason why we should not succeed in… establishing the structure of this united Europe whose moral concepts will be able to win the respect and recognition of mankind…”

If you can’t ever be nasty to your enemies - your enemies will eventually time you out with geological attrition alone.

We’re friends with those who have us heavily indebted to them (China) when it would pay us to cut ties
all the while…

We’ve made an enemy of the country that could end the cost of living crisis overnight, no strings attached at that. (Russia)

We’ve got all our politicians chasing the Green Agenda which less than 0.01% of us voted for, whilst refusing to get brexit fully completed which 17.1m of us DID vote for.
We’ve got party leaders losing elections despite getting more votes than the last winner for that party beforehand (Corbyn, Trump)

No one has even considered “Strategic Default” yet as a political way forward for their country, which ■■■■■■ no one off except the bankers, whom I thought we all hated both left and right of politics?

Oh yeh,.and our first game this season is Notts Forest.
Here’s a link for ya.

I do feel the need to pull you up on something here Robroy, it’s Nottingham Forest and Notts County, us people here in Nottingham don’t like the 2 getting mixed up.

P.S I think you’ll spank us, like most will this season.

Sorry about that mate.
I m kinda pleased they are back in the top flight, same as I was when Leeds got promoted
I remember Nottingham Forest in the Clough days.,
I may feel different if you beat us btw.
Getting Lingard was a scoop btw, hoped he’d come to us.
Good players in their day, (got to keep on thread so as not to upset Frangers) including the great ex Newcastle player AND PROMINENT BREXITEER  Stuart ■■■■■■ Pearce…

I was born in 1983 so only remember the end of the Clough era from the early 90’s, sadly his alcohol addiction had got the better of him by then and Forest were a shell of the team from the late 70’s and 80’s. We spent the rest of the 90’s yo-yoing before going down in 1999 and never returning till now.

Like you, I am a bit of old school when it comes to teams in the top flight (with a bit of Forest bias here) but I thought it was quite sad a few years ago when you had traditional “big teams” such as Forest, Leeds, Aston Villa, Newcastle, Sheff Weds and Ipswich all in the championship while teams such as Burnley, Watford, Bournemouth, Swansea and Stoke were in the PL (sorry to fans of those clubs)

I think the Lingard signing will be make of break when you are paying the wages they have quoted - for the benefit of Franglais and keeping this thread “on topic” that is 234,000 euro’s per week.

Yep but that’s the way it is with Premier League football, too much money in the game and obscene wages paid out to players…I put the blame firmly at the door of BREXIT.

(Think we both got away with it  )

Riding on the back of Brexit, Suella Braverman wants us to leave the ECHR.
The Torygraph is spreading the same message.

Well done Ms P.

Can’t be bothered to trawl back a few pages of Trucknet brain boxes trying to out smart Franglais, has anyone blamed the nasty French yet?

We now have a situation where if five French people are late for work an entire region of the UK is gridlocked. Is that controlling our borders?

Still it’s what people voted for :unamused: and they all knew what they were voting for so I respect that…

Shame the new Tory leader is going to rip it up and start again because it’s so awful.

Darkside:
trying to out smart Franglais

Thanks, but nowt particularly smart about me.
All I, and anyone with an interest, has to do is look at the situation and point out what is being reported.

Any “smarts” would involve pointing out the Brexit benefits we are all looking for.
Rees-Mogg has demonstrated his “smarts” by high-lighting the benefits of us being able to buy vacuum-cleaners that burn more electricity than is currently (whoops) allowed.

The project known as Operation Brock to deal with queues to Dover was originally named: ‘Brexit Operations Across Kent’ - Yet the department for transport claimed there was no link to EU withdrawal.

And the PIGS ■■

Classic “cherry picking”.
What about the countries performing above average?

Picking odd wee aspects of a big complex picture is a waste of time.

But the point of the video was about the ability of the PIGS to continue to borrow before their bonds become junk. I know my CSE in woodwork isnt much use to me in this topic and you will be much more qualified than me, because you cherry picked everything but the subject of the video and then baffle other posters with reams of other videos, that most people lose the will to view, that dont address the theme in question.

Or am I missing something ?

Brexit benefit? Is this an increase in exports due to Brexit?*

Another company takes the advice given it by the Johnson Gov, and moves out of the UK…

Looks like they will carry on the same trade but be based in France.

*We have successfully exported a company, exported its jobs, and exported its tax revenues.

Maybe it is me who is missing summat?
I really fail to see the specific issue here. Apart from the obvious one that the world, all of it, is currently in a bad financial position.
The idea of the PIGS and later PIIGGS has been around since 2008. Your earlier assertion
“Thank God we’re not on the hook for this.” isn`t so credible when you realise that the UK is included in the PIIGGS and also in STUPID (El Pais)

The video on a financial theme, and cited examples of what it seemed to say countries had financial problems and gave figures to support such a view . I showed other countries with similar figures that seem not to have the problems alleged.
So, I think the figures he gave do not support his contentions.
The same type of stats can`t be proof of something a in “case A” and not in “case B”, surely?

Why do you suggest that my giving several examples or lists is confusing, when his vid did exactly that too?
Well, OK, I ain`t as erudite, this is a rattled off post, not an expensively produced slick video, designed to sell something…hhmmm

Other non Euro countries have the ability to devalue their currency, which the PIGS do not, and that is the danger. As with any financial problem in the EU crossing ones fingers is never a good long term solution IMHO

There is no such thing as a perfect solution.
The Eurozone takes away individual manoeuverability at the same time as it it gives the strength of a larger, more resilient, cushion.
It isn`t something one can just dip into and out of every time the wind shifts a few degrees.

The Eurozone Central Bank is not just "crossing its fingers". Christine Lagarde didnt go into all of the strategies that they might, (or might not) use in a foreign TV interview, anymore than Sunak or anyone else might.

Is that enough? I dunno. But it sure is more than was suggested in that TV clip…from…when exactly?

Mirriam_Webster
vic·to·ry | \ ˈvik-t(ə-)rē
plural victories
Definition of victory
1: the overcoming of an enemy or antagonist
2: achievement of mastery or success in a struggle or endeavor against odds or difficulties

So, if there has been a victory.
If 1: who are the enemies?
If 2: what is easier, or has been overcome?

And if I remember, Willard later says of Kilgore:
The Colonel looked after his soldiers, he brought in steaks and beer. The more he reminded them of home, the more homesick they got…

(Thats top o me head so could be wrong)

PS The only b!!! beibg spoken is the promises of the Brexiteers in the clip

Saw this comment today which captures it in one:

We have so taken back control of our borders, that a few Frenchmen turning up late for work to man passport control booths at Dover, can bring the country to a standstill!
Hmmm … Brexit - The gift that keeps on taking!
