Brexit , borders and lorries

@ Noremac.

Sorry for not providing a link ., mate, I copied it from a Guardian article.

So, anyone from Brexit camp knows anything about us getting a deal or not?

To me it looks like a no brainer, we should be leaving with No Deal, after all we have been told numerous times, by the Brexiters chosen dream team, leading the negotiations, that under No Deal scenario , the country would do fantastically well on the global stage, prospects for the future were going to be amaizing.

What’s the hold up then?

We keep hearing all the time about all these talks still going on.
Why even bother.
Why aren’t our Brexit hardliner leaders, chosen the one and only obvious option of No Deal?

I’m confused.

Talks are all off.
The negotiators have been turned back at the border. One of them tried smuggling in a packed lunch.

It’s democracy innit?
52% of voters in 2016 wanted a Brexit promised to be an easy deal with frictionless trade etc.
We’re likely getting a shed full of extra red tape, more expenses, and less freedom of our right to roam.
But, 80 MPs in the Tory party won’t vote out Johnson.

We have two options, and I am not bothered which one you people want to go for:

  1. Oven ready deal, as promised countless of times.
This scenario is easy, as the name indicates the Deal was oven ready, over a year ago, so no need to negotiate anything, just implement the Oven Ready Deal

Or

  1. No Deal under which , as promised by Brexit dream team, the country will do amazingly well, as we didn’t need any deal to prosper.
It was EU that needed us more than we needed the EU, as we were being told since before the referendum, over 4 years ago.

This scenario is also simple to implement, as you don’t need to hold any talks at all with the EU.

Why haven’t Brexiters implemented any of these two simple options?

What’s causing all these delays?
I am not happy with all these delays, Nigel also isn’t happy.

Why continue all these talks if we have had all our options sorted a long time ago?
Is the Brexit team going to go on their knees and beg the EU, for a deal?
Why, what for?

Are you going to give away a bigger chunk of our fishing rights?
Think about all these French fishermen stealing our fish, from our own territorial waters.

Grow some balls Brexiters, finally.

Peter Cruddas, one of the City’s best-known entrepreneurs, is to be handed a long-awaited seat in the House of Lords as Boris Johnson swells the ranks of Conservative donors in the upper chamber. The ennobling of Mr Cruddas, who founded the FTSE-250 financial services company CMC Markets. Market value £1.13 Billion .

A prolific donor who has given more than £3.5m to the Tories, Mr Cruddas was one of the founders of Vote Leave and gave the campaign group £1.5m ahead of the 2016 Brexit referendum.

The announcement of his nomination for a peerage would come just days before the UK faces the possible end of the Brexit transition period without an EU trade deal.

Cronyism at it’s best . Donated out of the good ness of his heart .Nothing to do with shorting the £.

If you were a prime minister of the UK at this stage of Brexit negotiations, you knew you were not prepared for No Deal Brexit, your voters were the half of the population, that don’t understand how today’s world works, you knew you would be destrying the economy if you proceeded with No Deal and you were desperate to strike a deal at almost all cost, but you didn’t want to look weak in the eyes of the talibanised part of your voters and the Taliban from your own party?

What would you do?

Not a bad idea would be to convince the EU, France, to close the borders under a pretext of, say, new , more dangerous strain of Covid, to give them the taate of what is to come if they don’t back you up on a deal, you are about to strike with the EU, giving it all away, making Brexit, not a roaring tiger you have been promising all these, just to be elected, but little, meowing kitten.

I would not be surprised if I was to learn that closing borders with the EU, was a Brexiteer’s idea, and the Eu just went along with it, as they are not bothered as much about the outcome of these negotiations.

^^^^ you think that the EU aren’t bothered about it!    Dream on. The rug is about to be pulled from their life of opulence and waste, of course they’re bothered about it.

Lol lets hope there’s a plentiful supply of blood pressure tablets after Brexit because it sounds like 48% of the population are going to need them.

That ‘Brexit will cause the collapse of the EU’ can just keeps getting kicked further down road doesn’t it

You think it won’t be the catalyst then?

All the “Restrictions” all the “downsides” - are about what the EU will do to the UK if they don’t get their own way, in that we remain slaves forever to their socialist empire oh-so-ripe for utter destruction.

We left Nazism behind in the 20th century, with the last elected “National Socialist” government being in 1945 the same year of Hitler’s downfall.

Argentina.
Juan Peron’s lyric line from “Evita” at a point of the story set just before the 1945 general election.

“Then again I might be foolish, not to quit whilst I’m ahead…
…I can see me, many miles away - inactive.
All exiles are distinguished, more important - they’re not dead…
…I could find job satisfaction - in Paraguay.”
Tim Rice, Evita Libretto.

The Soviet Union fell in 1990, with other lesser or greater upheavals around the former Iron Curtain countries beginning the year before.
Velvet revolution in former Czechovslovakia, something more violet on Christmas Day, Romania, 1989…

Nicolae Ceaușescu's End.jpg

Communism the whole world over - should have been dead and buried forever by that point, and yet here we are still arguing that collectivization more akin to brutal serfdom - is somehow preferable than a Right Wing law & order enforcer in power anywhere at any time…

Do people really want the CCP to rule them, rather than people like Viktor Orban, Donald Trump, Rodrigo Duterte, and Vladimir Putin continuing?

Cleggy’s copyright infringement agenda - is also back on the table, so expect some further chapter in “shutting people down” to further silence the moral majority in due course.
An extreme form of “controlling the narrative” where Evil is Legal, arguing for Good is automatically a lock-up offence…

If someone say, posts a video of some elite actually committing a crime, and that crime happens to be the whistleblower being murdered, the persons re-tweeting that video will be busted for infringing the victim poster’s copyright, never mind the actual crime that has actually been caught on camera.
That’s the EU version, with the UK version not that far behind, although a proper hard brexit will mean we can re-write our own versions of copyright legislation on a whim any time after January 1st 2021 IF we get the full-fate “leave the ECJ” Brexit that we DID vote for actually.

Dangerous days approach folks. I might have to go off-grid again for a while, but for the time being I’ve put my hours in for Christmas, so I’m now going to take a few days off…

You sir are heroic, truly heroic, putting your life and liberty on the line by being so radically outspoken on Trucknet. If only more people had your remarkable levels of bravery we could overcome the evil Trucknet elites living in their golden curtainsider. God be with you.

Total number of people bothered about Winseer disappearing “off grid” for a while.

As a fellow trucker though, I’ll wish you a merry christmas just like everyone else though… :grimacing:

‘I will always be a European’: Boris Johnson’s father Stanley is applying for FRENCH citizenship after Brexit

Stanley Johnson confirmed he he was in the process of applying for a passport
He is a former member of the European Parliament who voted Remain in 2016
He told France’s RTL radio today: ‘I will always be a European, that’s for sure’

Boris Johnson’s father is trying to get a French passport after Brexit, he revealed today on the eve of the UK’s departure from the bloc after more than four decades.

In an embarrassing development for the Prime Minister, Stanley Johnson confirmed he he was in the process of applying for citizenship in the country of his mother’s birth.

Mr Johnson, 80, a former member of the European Parliament who voted Remain in Britain’s 2016 referendum, told RTL radio he wanted to become a French citizen because of his strong family links to France.

Obtaining dual citizenship would allow him to maintain freedom of movement that comes to an end tonight.

The Prime Minister’s great grandmother was Marie-Louise de Pfeffel, a French woman who married his great-grandfather Stanley Williams.

Their daughter Irene - known to the PM as Granny Butters - married into the Johnson family and was Stanley Johnson’s mother.

‘If I understand it correctly, I am French. My mother was born in France, her mother was totally French as was her grandfather. So for me it is about reclaiming what I already have. And that makes me very happy,’ Stanley told the radio station in French.

‘I will always be a European, that’s for sure. One cannot tell the British people: you are not Europeans. Having a tie with the European Union is important.’

Boris Johnson was the public face of the Leave campaign in the 2016 referendum and says Britain can ‘prosper mightily’ as a fully sovereign nation outside what he sees as an overly bureaucratic EU.

Last year, during his Tory leadership campaign he revealed that while Stanley backed Remain, his mother Charlotte voted for Brexit.

In the run-up to the referendum, The PM’s father repeatedly attacked his son’s stance on Brexit, saying staying the bloc was crucial for stopping climate change.

But the following year he announced he has switched sides to back Brexit after taking fright at Jean-Claude Juncker’s federalist vision.

Stanley Johnson said a recent speech by the then European Commission president convinced him the EU was moving ‘at an ever-increasing speed in a direction we really don’t want to go’.

The PM’s younger sister Rachel is also a Brexiteer who stood unsuccessfully to be an MEP for Change UK last year.

His bother Jo quit the Government over Brexit after backing a second referendum and stood down as Tory MP for Orpington at the 2019 election.

Gibraltar Wins Special Brexit Arrangements - What About Scotland Now?

Gibraltar has struck a deal with Spain that involves them joining the EU Schengen zone to maintain freedom of movement, essential for their economy. We now have Gibraltar and Northern Ireland having special arrangements with the EU after brexit, so why shouldn’t Scotland be able to do likewise?
