Hiya all Ive been offered weekend Class 2 work with Brakes running out of Tamworth (staffs) just wondered if anyone has past or present experiences from their. Thanks lads
from what i know be prepared for a lot of carrying of good s as they deliver to restaurants bars clubs etc with food stuff so that means carring the good s to where ever the chef wants them and getting parking close to a lot of these places is near impossible
A good start for a newbie who is young and fit and prepared to work hard.
Running upstairs with a bread crate…

But there’s nothing wrong with that if you are young and fit. Bread doesn’t walk up the stairs on its own.
1st job I got on Class 2, lots and LOTS of drops, badly loaded and maintained cages, unhelpfull staff and crappy locations.

Average age of drivers with 2 years experience: 43 years
Average number of drivers regularily attending Gym: 1 in 9.
Average number of drops with 3663: 48
Average hourly rate: £8.66ph
Mass of average driver: 110kg
Average breakfast eaten by such a driver: (See Below)
Average Calories requried to run up at least 48 flights of stairs per day (might be provided by below)
I don’t think the drivers with time left to attend Gym on a regular basis are the same set that will be working stupid hours to earn a crust enough to pay even a bog standard mortgage these days…
After all that, I guess the pay is slightly higher than a pool attendent!
What’s for afters

Nowt up with that, much easier when provided with a proper hook though. And you can always be a 5 year-old and ride the empty trays back down!
Make sure you put the drops into cages if loading yourself. Be aware that when you arrive at a pub or restaurant that is open, do not expect any help. And many of them will be annoyed that you turned up when they are busy. Yes, it is a lot of handballing into kitchens, then you wait ages for the chef or manager to check the POD. The orders are never correct, you have to navigate around lots of cars and people. This job will make you more determined to get a Class 1.
Sorry to be negative, but I hated this job. Severe lack of Transport or warehouse managers at weekends too.
From what I have been told by ex brakes staff the same as above and expect 12 hour days on multiple routes for the first three months. After that they say it gets easier! Good luck and let us know how it goes!

12 hours was a quiet day when on with 3663.
As said above. It’ll make you determined to get CE

Was it worth it money wise?!

■■■■ pay, ■■■■ hours, ■■■■ job…wouldn’t even consider it as isn’t paid well enough to take even a quarter of the aggro you’ll get!
