I discovered tippers over there were called Dump Trucks. The other Truckers called Dump Truck drivers ‘Dump Chumps!’.
I have always thought that very appropriate!!!

I was driving down to Cleveleys the other day, got to the roundabout by the hotel(cant remember its name) and a tipper came bombing passed. Outside lane as to turn right, inside lane on the roundabout and then cut me up to go straight on…very dangerous, especially as i noticed he was fully loaded with stuff AND he hardly dropped his speed for any of it :S
AND THAT ONLY HAPPENS WITH TIPPERS DOES IT, WAKE UP, YOU JUST LIKE TO HEAR YOUR HEAD RATTLE CAUSE THERES NOT A LOT IN THERE
I had an incident some years ago.
I’d loaded steel at cardiff docks and was heading up towards ross.
The load was 65’ long so i needed a little extra room on the roundabouts.
I positioned myself just over the white line so people would know what i was doing, “Flashing lights, markers all in order.”
Six tippers are heading up behind me, 5 of them decide to wait, But one of them thinks he’ll get past his mates and me.
He got past, But he realised he made a mistake when he ended up half on/off the roundabout.
His mates were hooting there horns and laughing at him. They overtook me and all showed thumbs up.
The idiot didn’t overtake me even on the steep hills on the m50. Me at 44 tons him empty.
