I like cycling as well as motorcycling, driving, sailing and flying. If it moves I’m into it.
I also like dogs. That is dogs that have a job to do, on farms, gundogs, guard dogs etc. I don’t like people who have dogs for the sake of having them. I especially don’t like people who have them in urban environments, where there is very little to occupy them. In my opinion it’s cruel to the animal. They are, as someone has pointed out “■■■ machines” that serve no purpose unless they’re working.
Ive just come back from a very satisfying bike ride, I hopefully wound a fair few fat truckers up, as that is what we cyclists sole objective is when we set off on a ride
oh and Iam just off into town to buy a pair of 32" waist jeans as a result of keeping my self active on a bike
One of Salvesen’s nearly swiped me with his trailer the other day. He must have seen me - I’ve got decent lights and hi viz etc.
Thing is, they’re just over the road from our yard so I know where he was running out of. I was very tempted to dob him in, the ■■■■■

People who ride bikes (especially those retarded things with the pedals and handlebars in the wrong places) that have a camera on their helmet are just like vegetarians and non smokers, they don’t want to enjoy life, they just want to moan about it
That’s the biggest load of hypocritical tosh i have ever read, i think you will find that cyclists are probably the people who get the most out of life, its wildly considered to be one of the hardest sports there is, and takes a great deal of determination and will to do.
I think if you are the wrong way round it seems to be people on here who love to moan about everything they can, this thread is a prime example of that, you will never find cyclists moaning about self-inflicted things like truck drivers seem to
Helmet cameras are just like the road hawk system commonly used by motorists and CCTV that is used by shopkeepers, they give you good evidence in the event of an accident/injury etc
Slackbladder:
Sorry, don’t get the bus reference, bit too highbrow for a cyclist. Dont know if driving in south Korea is different, it’s trucks on roads isn’t it. The thing is you are not allowed to have the tv on when driving, you can have them in the cab but they should not be wired up for use to work when driving, this driver circumvented that. Luckily nothing like that happens here! Does it?
Your a bus driver are you not??
BUT IT IS STILL SOUTH KOREA, A LOT MORE CYCLISTS AND A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT WAY OF DRIVING, TRUST ME I KNOW!!!

I think you’ll find that what you just said is tosh, how can a cyclist get more out of life than someone else? A walker in the countryside will get more out of it, even more if he takes his dog and a camera or his eisel and paints.
How is cycling hard? It might be physically demanding but it’s not hard, there is very little skill in riding a bike as I saw a four year old doing it the other day it’s the same as any other racing sport you just have to go faster than anyone else to win.
Kind of strange thread this - I saw the video, some stroker on a bike runs over a dog - I’d smack him in the teeth if I’d seen him (even if it wasn’t my dog - I don’t own one) same if he was in a car, truck, bus, hang glider…whatever. At the end of the day the rider rode in a way with zero consideration for other people or animals, even if they were in the wrong. I would consider his actions cruelty to an animal, why on earth did he not even try to slow down? It is quite correct that by the logic shown by this cyclist, we as truck drivers would have the right to mow down cyclists riding in the road…
I think a lot of the posts about running over cyclists are in jest, I know for one I just wouldn’t want the paperwork. I haven’t been driving HGVs all that long but already had more than a few “experiences” with cyclists riding like they just can’t see me, cutting up my left hand side, cutting across the front without looking etc etc - same as happens to all of us. I will also say I have encountered a few totally stupid truck drivers as well, including one last year who forced me into the slip lane for no other reason than that he could…
I will also say that as a kid I loved riding my mountain bike and me and the mrs are hoping to get bikes this year so we can go out into the countryside - at least that will be two out there who know how to ride when around trucks etc.
Well sydeakinwoods, glad to see you can read the whole thread, if by bus driver you mean drives a double deck trailer around, then yes I’m a bus driver! Don’t recall even mentioning a bus drivers job but hey, been knocked off the bike a couple of times by motor vehicles so I may have forgotten. What a tool!
Just re read my last post. By what a tool I mean me by the way.
Bloody arrogant cyclists… Yes, some of them are, but guess what?
There are some bloody arrogant truck drivers, and bus drivers and pedestrians and politicians, and TM’s and policemen - get my drift?

The word ‘trailer’ could of helped ,seen as though you put '‘I drive a double decker for a living’…
But my bad I apologise, these mind reading lessons really aren’t working
Just watched the video again, im sure the highway code states that if there is no foot path pedestrians are to walk towards on coming traffic not with the flow, as there was no footpath surely they had a legal right to be walking there? secondly i am a dog owner who doesnt think there just for the country set as i live in the city.
My dog comes with me to work some days and keeps an eye on the truck if im away gaurding it for me, as for the cycilst ! just the king of self absorbed nurd that gives cyclists a bad name for all of them and I can promise this, if he had done that to my dog he would have needed a new pair of knees as i would have had great pleasure in smashin the crap out of both of them so he couldnt do that to another animal again.
At the end of the day we all have to live on this planet together and knob heads like that should be dragged from the back of a truck by his gonads.

My attitude to cycling is simple, I just want to go out for a ride without having to feel like I’m taking my life in my hands every time I’m on a road with other vehicles. I don’t want to be maimed or crippled because some driver wants to get to the next hold up a few seconds quicker. I don’t want to be verbally abused or have things thrown at me because I choose to use a bike to go to work. Is that too much to ask? Why can the majority of posters on here not reply without resorting to violence? Chances are most of you will be too fat to fight or chase a cyclist on foot anyway. I think you should have a crack at cycling and maybe it would get rid of some of those violent tendencies, learn to chill out a little.
It’s not just cyclist who feel like that, motorcyclist to also feel like that. Sorry but it’s your choice if you want to cycle on the road, no one is stopping you in anyway.
Why is it that cyclist always feel there hard done by?
i knocked a cyclist off his bike at the oval about twelve years ago(his fault)
what a shocking experience(for him especially as he broke his hip-he was definately in shock…)
in central london these morons have a deathwish-and before the two wheeled maniacs start frothing at the mouth i do ride a bike myself(both pedal powered and 650cc triumph powered) .
Yes re read the post and should have put , I drive a six wheel MAN pulling a double deck trailer for a living, my bad.
I see we are back with the violence, knees and gonads this time. For a start you cannot see what happened to the dog, it may have yelped when the owner tried to pull it out of the way, who knows. Besides all the cyclist had to do was say" I’m sorry mate, I didn’t see you" it seems to work for motorists. As for dogs, when I see one of the little ■■■■ machines pick up its own crap off the pavement I might cut them a little slack.

Yeah, and when they stop shouting at themselves all day while I’m trying to sleep I might too. Stupid animals.

You are one of those cyclist that thinks people should get on there knees as you pass them.
I am a motorcyclist and get overtaken every now and then by motor vehicles very closely, just like you do when your own on your bike with the stabilisers still attached
. I don’t go out onto the road looking for anyone who comes near me with a car so i can have a moan, and shout stuff about the bible ( Highway Code )
My advice is chill out and relax a bit more when your out and about. The prat in the video needs some words of advice given to him as his actions whilst riding that bike were bad. Not once did the cyclist slow down, nor did he say sorry or stop!. He could be done under the Road Traffic Act as there is a legislation that also applies to cyclists
Funny thing you know, I ride bikes both with and without engines, very very rarely have any issues at all, in fact never whilst on a push bike, and only once in probably 20 years on a motorbike, maybe it’s because i don’t put myself in positions of danger or leave myself open to stupid moves, and also because I don’t ride around with a freakin hero cam strapped to my head looking for trouble.
