Went to my first drop this morning notice on the gate that the stores is shut please go to a different building. not an issue went to the other building and was told they are having to deep clean the stores because 2/3 people that work there have caught corona (was tempted to ask if they caught the bottle opener too but thought maybe it wasn’t a good idea).
In reality im there for 5 mins max and don’t get close to them. I tend to leave the paper work on the table for them to sign then pick it up after they have stepped away.
When all this kicked off I signed a bit of paper asking if I had been in contact with anyone that had been diagnosed and that I would notify the office if it changed.
heres my thinking the site is one of the testing and research places for this pandemic so the stuff I am taking there could be classed as important. so if I self isolate one of my co-workers will have to do it instead. however the flip side of that is at least 2 of the other guys live with vulnerable people (apparently) so I am increasing the risk to them by going to work and the risk to others at my other drops.
Im unsure what to do for the best

There’s a pandemic killing thousands of people daily, you’ve been in close contact where you’re told the virus is active and you’re asking for advice from random unknown people on the internet?
no im asking from advice from people that have a brain cell and understand the issue better than joe public as several on here have stated they have some background in infection control and have a better grasp on how this thing is properly transmitted then the rubish most morons are spewing/believing.
well in that case use your brain cell and self isolate… simples… hth
if it suits you to go on the sick for £94 per week then go on the sick.
if it suits you to work, then crack on…
you have a excuse to take tour pick now.

In reality, you should be speaking to your gaffer. They’re responsible for your and others wellbeing. I’m guessing you think they’ll send you home for two weeks just to make sure and you want a bunch of random people on the internet to tell you it’s ok.
I’ve been locked up in my own home for nearly a month now because people “think its gonna be ok”.
If you didn’t come into contact with them…No need to isolate.
I haven’t been giving folk the option of signing pod’s I ask there name and write it on my self .

You are taking the ■■■■ right?
Phone 111 and have a look at Gov.uk
■■■■ my life. Expecting a post from the toilet cubicle next asking whether I should ■■■■ or ■■■■ I’m not sure I thought I’d ask a brain cell
no point in self isolating unless your showing the symptons.
ie a temperature and a cough . etc
say you play safe self isolate for 2 weeks. you haven’t had any symptons so maybe haven’t had it.
you go back to work weeks later you get the symptoms what then?
you go off again for 2 weeks which I cant see any employer being happy with.
unless you feel unwell or show signs id just carry on
Only you know if you got within 2 metres or touched things and then didn’t wash your hands.

Let’s break this down a bit. You were sent to company that, on one of it’s sites, have had people who have been diagnosed with Covid19. You did not enter that site as you were diverted to another site the receiving company operate from, you did not have contact with people from site 1.
At site 2 you maintain social distancing make the delivery and leave.
You are expected to inform your employer if you believe you have come into contact with/exposed to Covid19. I would tell your employer but would not be self isolating on the basis of your post.
The rest of your post content is, with respect, merely a distraction from the moot factors.
Guidance at our place is to self isolate if you have come into contact with anyone confirmed with it closer than 2m or for longer than 15 mins.

Oh wait it’s infectious before it shows any symptoms.

You’ve read it wrong he was sent to the second building and it was ‘that’ building where the infection was and was being cleaned.
The bit I don’t get is that this thing supposedly can only be handled within a level 4 biolab and if it gets out all hell breaks loose. You don’t want to be in the same building without NBC kit let alone 2 metres. This is an ADR issue for Dave to sort out.

Really?
One of them wasn’t known as ‘‘Carryfast’’ was he?

I haven’t been giving folk the option of signing pod’s I ask there name and write it on my self .
Couriers who I’ve had dealings with recently don’t ask me to sign the machine, they just ask my name and either take a photo of either myself or the building they have delivered to and put the package on the floor at a safe distance from me and leave
Past the contact tracing stage now so isolate if any symptoms. Already to late really as most of us by the nature of our work will come into contact with the virus or areas the virus has been.
At the containment aka ‘Most of us will get it’ phase.
We are basically the herd immunity guinea pigs albeit in a more controlled setting.
Just wash your hands avoid disposable gloves and face masks imho.
You should go on the sick immediately and give ALL of your sick pay to just giving for the nhs so they can use it here youtube.com/watch?v=s6_MfQ9FloE
