Fully expecting to be shot down in flames by the hysterical “you all gonna die” bedwetters but my advice would be to MTFU and get on with your life.
cooper1203:
Went to my first drop this morning notice on the gate that the stores is shut please go to a different building. not an issue went to the other building and was told they are having to deep clean the stores because 2/3 people that work there have caught corona (was tempted to ask if they caught the bottle opener too but thought maybe it wasn’t a good idea). In reality im there for 5 mins max and don’t get close to them. I tend to leave the paper work on the table for them to sign then pick it up after they have stepped away.
When all this kicked off I signed a bit of paper asking if I had been in contact with anyone that had been diagnosed and that I would notify the office if it changed.
heres my thinking the site is one of the testing and research places for this pandemic so the stuff I am taking there could be classed as important. so if I self isolate one of my co-workers will have to do it instead. however the flip side of that is at least 2 of the other guys live with vulnerable people (apparently) so I am increasing the risk to them by going to work and the risk to others at my other drops.
Im unsure what to do for the best

I’d isolate , lot of vulnerable people about , by continuing to work you are putting peoples
Life’s at risk .
I understand the ops worry, but if theres no contact…carry on. If you decide to self isolate ( and leave it to the next driver ) he too may self isolate, and it will continue until the company has no more staff and closes down…persist until you get the cough and sweats or other symptoms…personally i feel you have more chance of catching it from shopping.

several on here have stated they have some background in infection control
Really?
One of them wasn’t known as ‘‘Carryfast’’ was he?

theres plenty in here with the “ex” status along with the "im qualified in this or that training/examining and used to instruct " complete and utter pish status.
cooper1203:
no im asking from advice from people that have a brain cell and understand the issue better than joe public as several on here have stated they have some background in infection control and have a better grasp on how this thing is properly transmitted then the rubish most morons are spewing/believing.
Dont believe anyone on here if they tell you they have a background in anything, we have train drivers, airline pilots, refrigeration engineers, road safety experts, property developers and male prostitutes, yet they all try to keep their hand in driving a poxy lorry.
I would go back to your employer and tell them exactly what it says in your first post, oh, and did you lick the windows of the first building, did you hug the first bloke who sent you to the second building, do you feel crap?

I tried that for a bit but I never made any money

If I remember correctly, that was just one user on here.
just to clarify a few points.
I do a regular round day in day out pretty much with the occasional extra drop if its in the area I cover or one of the other drivers has too much work and its on my way out or back.
I have been going to this site since mid feb on a daily basis. tues and Wednesday I was on general as there wasn’t enough work for the contract I normally work on so thurs was my first time going there since Easter. When I arrived at the stores there was a bit of paper stuck to the gate saying it was closed and to go to the other building. I was told there by the person taking the goods in that the stores were closed for deep cleaning because of the 2 people going down with corona. since the pandemic has kicked off as soon as I get back in the truck I use hand sanitizer.
The thought process behind the original question was is it as bad as the gov make out that you only have to stand with in 2meters of someone for half a millisecond and you will catch it and die. on top of that being a thick bugger and just a lowly driver I have no clue what procedues are in place at these testing stations. if people are allowed to wander around collecting supplies from the stores then it is a little more “serious” than if there are strict tightly controlled policies that limit 2 people ever coming into contact.

sorry for those that cant be bothered to answer the question properly and all they have in their lives is picking holes……
before Easter I was going there on a daily basis but after Easter I have been there twice this week ill be sure to update the post on a daily basis from Monday in case I don’t go there again. Also as it is generally accepted that it takes 11 to 14 days before symptoms manifest themselves what I did after Easter has nothing to do with it as the virus was obviously there before people displayed symptoms.
the original question was in the title and original post but I guess that you were far to busy trying to be a clever so and so to bother to read that.
To be honest you remind me a little of a driving instructor I knew that had all the qualifications known to man. when quizzed about adr stuff he reckoned he had all the class’s and used them all but hadn’t done explosives or nuclear. in other words all hot air with the appropriate stench of crap.
Ok, to answer your question. Have you developed a new persistent dry cough and/or a fever, since you were at this particular drop?
If yes then you are potentially symptomatic of Covid-19 and should self isolate and not leave your house for 14 days, as should other people in your household.
If no -then carry on as normal, within the restrictions that have been placed on us.

So you went to a research establishment, these places have a very high bio-clean ratio, the staff that caught the virus will have caught it outside, you have more chance of winning the lottery, than catching covid-19 from a research establishment, you made a delivery dropped your stuff and went, you had no personal contact, 2m rule, and no paperwork to touch… Crack on drive.
Assuming you and your family are not in high risk groups.
(If you are, then isolate for your own security.)
NHS advice is
" Do not leave your home if you have symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) or live with someone who does.
This is called self-isolation.
If you are self-isolating, you must:
not leave your home for any reason – if you need food or medicine, order them by phone or online, or ask someone else to drop them off at your home
not have visitors, such as friends and family, in your home
You can use your garden, if you have one. Any exercise should be taken at home.
Information:
If you’re not sure if you need to self-isolate
If you have symptoms of coronavirus (a high temperature or a new, continuous cough), use the 111 coronavirus service to find out what to do."

Those mentions of dropping dead after “my mates, granddad
s, pet cat, coughed” are out there, as are “it`s only a cold” but keep looking at NHS etc for advice.
Soory coops , I seem to have upset you. TBH I thought this thread was a bit of a wind up but maybe not.
I’ll better not say what you remind me of.
