I have read some where that these type cabs will be on all trucks in about eight years time.It is claimed it is for safety reasons, may be in my its me but I think there is no point ,the cabs we have now are ok why change
I hope not. They are uncomfortable, and the lower can only really helps a bit in the urban environment, no need for a trunk vehicle
hahaha-there would be loads of people posting about how they wish they still had their old merc axor
Where exactly did you read this mate?
There do seem to be a lot more of them coming into the ports.
No different to some coaches where the driver sits low. If it does come in it would only be a matter of time before everyone one got used to it and new drivers wouldnt know any different…
Saw a Jeswson Econic yesterday, and Lenham Storage have one with a curtainsider
I saw a brand new Biffa Volvo on my way to work the other day, it was being dragged back to the depot on a wrecker as I was going home. Not good.
, thats a means to an end of the vergeside plastic bottle syndrome and trailer axle danglers
all about cyclist protection , but what about the truck driver involved in an accident when the cab collapses on him because it’s all glass and aluminium . oh , i forgot truck drivers don’t matter compared to the mighty cyclist . the lunatics ( boris ) have taken over the asylum .

And what benefits will a low level cab have on landfill sites? When they first came out on dustcarts, Viridor had to put in a tip off bay at Ardley and then dumper the waste to the tip area because the dustcarts couldn’t go off road.
A tipper/building site delivery truck with a low level cab?? What could possibly go wrong?
i bet it will still be the lorry drivers fault when a cyclist goes up the inside and goes under the wheels

I’m not sure of any benefits at all. Worse turning circle, forward visibility and driver protection in a crash in return for a better view of any pedestrian daft enough to walk in front which as a risk has already been reduced by front mirrors.
Won’t make any difference to all the “Fanny’s in Scannies”, they’ll still put Frilly Curtains up & only leave a 1 inch peephole out the side window. [emoji57]
just a thought, when david cameron stands down, whats the betting that boris will become prime minister and then watchout for all the truck bashing legistation that will come in
Reading this week’s commercial motor the editor had been to Holland which cyclist groups point to as some utopia.
There traffic planers were shocked at calls for buzzers linked to indicators side bars and low level cabs and think there not needed.
Mainly because the Dutch realise there vulnerable so cycle a cording not think there in the tour De France on the commute to work
