I will assume you will include buses in that comment as well then? Plenty of them are actually bigger than the truck.

The article also states that the girls father and 2 younger brothers also escaped the carnage as they were ‘browsing in another shop’. Totally agree with Coffee’s comment about the mum not using a cashpoint ever again. Also reading that Bryan Ferry’s son was involved in a head on smash and is fighting for his life. Some people really are gonna have a ■■■■ time from this moment on and going off slightly, it’s a wonder there wasn’t more incidents on the roads over the last few days, there has been some very poor driving on display, in a rush to get home for the holidays. As my old fella always said, ‘better 10 minutes late in this world than 10 minutes early in the next’. Forget about going over your time by 10 minutes and all the other stuff we have to deal with, drive safe, get home to the family and enjoy.

I know it’s the season of goodwill to all men but I have to make an exception here; you are a gross ignoramus. That’s 144 times worse than a standard ignoramus. No offence.
No offence ?
Yeah, he went pretty easy on you really though didn’t he?
Dear oh dear.
Yeah guess I said something ?

Whilst I am a huge advocate of free speech and about as anti censor-ship as anyone can be im willing to bet there are families in Glasgow right now who fail to see the funny side of the “jokes” on twitter. Im also willing to bet that some of the posters who are defending “free speech” would have a vastly different opinion of the jokes had someone from their family been killed here
It needs to be remembered that right now there is a couple comprehending the loss of their 18mth old daughter and one of them has lost both parents in the blink of an eye,not to mention the others affected by this tragedy. Any idiot who thinks jokes are appropriate deserves all that is coming to themShe was 18 years old not months, doesn’t make it any less tragic though.
Sorry, typo on my part. My point still stands though
Indeed it does.
Right, an incident happened, someone ‘tweeted’ a joke about it. It was a crap joke, not funny, sick, in poor taste etc.
BUT around Christmas time, there are around 10x more burglary’s than normal (because thieves know Christmas presents are bought and people are out seeing family etc) and you think it’s ok for Police to waste time arresting this CHILD over a joke?
AND, because he was arrested, it made it to the awesome media who berated the kid about what he wrote, and to explain what they’re so enraged about, they REPEATED THE TWEET!!
The kid had probably re-tweeted it himself, it’s unlikely he thought it up himself. So, the media should now all be arrested too, from the ‘journalists’ to the editors, the publishers, the paper shops, the TV broadcasters, ■■■■ it, lets also arrest the advertisers who’ve cashed in due to the extra viewers because of this.
'kin unbelievable. Ignore it, it’ll go away, and the same with these ‘so called celebrities’ of Big Brother and I’m a slightly famous person get me out of here etc

The kid has got previous if you look on Twitter Wayne once tweeting he wished that Swansea City player Ashley Williams and his family died a painful death so I guess he does this thing regular and gets a kick out of it. Old bill getting involved is over the top, maybe a few slaps would sort him out more than a telling off by the police.

Yep,I think it more than acceptable. Do the police ignore this sort of thing because “its not worth it”? Does the fact he didnt think of it himself somehow make it ok to spread this sort of thing all over the internet? Child or not, this is totally unacceptable. And to even think that six people being killed is something to retweet, never mind make up, jokes about is a worrying vision of what the future may be like. Do we continue to let people(No,scratch that,TROLLS) hide from the safety of their keyboards and continue to act like putting things on the internet has no consequences? I watched a programme last month where a 13yr old girl was subjected to insults, threats and “jokes” at her expense for months till she killed herself. Her abusers were also 13. A prime example of keyboard warriors who think it does not matter what they post online. As if already said,im pro freedom of speech. But there has to be a line.
I totally agree with you about the media printing what was said. It was unbelievable and sensationalist and they should be hauled over the coals for it. But to then say the advertisers should be arrested for cashing in on the extra revenue? Thats a bit ridiculous

Im sure you’ll find this isn’t the future but something thats rooted very firmly in the past. It’s gallows humour.

Gallows humour in the past was not such a big problem. It was a few sick comments that hardly anyone outside the immediate circle ever heard. And anyone it affected never heard it because people didnt repeat it infront of them. But with the internet, now everyone reads what someone said within seconds. And it will only get worse in future. And even using the word humour with an incident like this is in bad taste. Years from now, maybe. And I say MAYBE. But the first ones appeared online within MINUTES. The bodies were still warm FFS. Anyone who finds humour in that needs professional help

And if it wasn’t for the uproar thats exactly what would have happened to this joke. Twitter is a big place, it would have disappeared without a trace were it not for people jumping on the offence bandwagon. If it were a member of my family the last thing I’d be thinking about is what people are saying, you really think they care? They’ve an impossible amount to be dealing with, one foolish boys foolish comments isnt one of them.

Or maybe people just need to stop being so sensitive all the time. I can understand the immediate family getting distressed because of the joke but not people who didn’t know them.
It’s like its become a national pastime in this country to become offended on behalf of other people. How many examples of TV shows have been reported to ofcom where people complaining hadn’t even watched the show.
It’s all become a bit pathetic.

It is in very bad taste, there are more details of what he actually wrote here. eveningtimes.co.uk/news/u/te … 1419340371 Not entirely sure whether it should be a police matter though.+1
A bit too soon to be cracking jokes about it… but that’s all it was; a joke.
I don’t like the way things are going with all this getting arrested for saying something on Twitter business. Very worrying indeed.
The people on this thread who think he should be put in intensive care or the morgue are far worse and much more deserving of police attention IMO.
+1 whatever happened to free speech.?
