They will once again spend more money than get in revenue, and just like speed cameras get a quick exit out, especially since some camera’s near me have been firebombed 4 - 6 times
Voodoo, whodoo? doyoudoo ■■?
I’ve been informed that those ‘two way radios’ are everything rolled into one - Radio & A MOBILEPHONE!
At the end of the day, it’s a hand held communication device, they should be done too!
I`ve not watched the video, but I thought that if the radio / mic had a push to talk button, 2 way radio, CB, etc, they where legal to use them while driving but as stated before you could be prosecuted for driving with out due car and attention.
Away from the radio but with regards to the rig these lorries the police are using are obviously running above the required 89km/h is there any truth in that if you have a fifth wheel fitted then you must have a limiter fitted? therefore if true are they running an illegal unit?

nowt too do with a fifthwheel, speed limiters fitted too trucks are determined by the year of first registration and there plated gross weight if i remember correctly
Well I am pleased that its on the road.
I see a lot of hgv drivers texting on the phone, as doing other things too.
If you are driving legal then don t worry about it. Cos I don’t.

Vehicles used for Fire & Rescue, ambulance and police purposes are specifically exempt from the requirement for speed limiters.
Great publicity, PC Nee-Nah Nairn is telling everybody he’s going to nick those naughty naughty truck drivers.
Unfortunately the reg plate of the truck and pictures of it are flooding the electronic media as we speak, so when he ambles about in his central motorway division, everybody will going “C U Jimmy”.
A touch toys for the boys methinks. Hasn’t he mentioned (about three thousand times) that he is an ex-trucker?
I think truck drivers have become an obsession with this guy Angus, and also being a regular feature on Traffic Cops it has all gone to his head.
Here’s a photo o Angus Nairn’s motor operated out of Kilmarnock area I dont know why he gets called Aberdeen Angus as i dont think he belonged or worked there. Eddie.
Juddian:
I wonder if traffic plod realise how despised they are by real coppers, not as it would make scrap of difference to them either way.
They are looked upon as failed coppers by a normal cop. Glorified traffic wardens as they are called. Afraid of real criminals, although one said to me that “he was to lazy to work and to proud to claim the dole so he joined the traffic corps…”
A tired Luton transit from the auctions with some camera spyholes cut in it and NO publicity would do the trick but then sitting on shiny ■■■ burned seats inhaling the odour of thousands of roll-ups and trying not to notice the dash covered in coffee stains and stale snot wouldn’t do a lot PC Nairns image.
A rather cheaper option - as moomooland has said maybe there will be an end to this grandstanding soon.

+1
Never before have I seen so many people in one thread, who are happy to share the roads with other drivers who are not paying attention and who put other people’s safety at risk.
The most important thing to me is I make it home to see my family after a day’s graft, and if Angus and his like, catch and remove the ■■■■■■■ who are texting, chatting away on their phones for mile after mile or are watching their laptops…they make the roads safer for me and everybody else.
Now I wonder who has a problem with that?
It’s only a matter of time before the Police crash their truck in a ‘high speed pursuit’…Then the Commissioner will be asked awkward questions about the common sense of policemen/women speeding up and down the roads in trucks as their flagship Police truck sits on top of a car and its occupants…

If i was his superiors i would be asking is the hire of a top of the range tractor unit, along with the running costs, really a necessity when drastic cuts are being implemented in other sections of the police force.
May be the new local police commissioner will look into it and have some input in stopping the star struck prat joyriding up and down the M5 and get him to do some proper police work.
I’m sure the amount of truckers he catches texting the wife and watching Eddie Stobart Trucks and Trailers whilst they’re driving more than makes up for his salary.
I hope this helps.

I have always been against these Police trucks…But recent experiences have enabled me to agree with you
I was very nearly side swiped by a foreigner in the A1 last week…As I got level with him, he was texting I doubt he realised his speed had dropped, as he sent me towards the crash barrier as I was overtaking him
A blast on the horn obviously meant nothing to him
I see Brits doing it too…So I am now all for this initiative and feel it should be rolled out nationwide, as the instances of this are definately on the increase…It is just bloody dangerous and I want to get home at the end of the day, not getting cut out of a few tons of metal!
Just want to clarify my position and that is that using any kind of device like a mobile is way out of order and the law should rightly be upheld at all times.
I just don’t like the showbiz part of it - it seems to be OK for authorities to always spend more than they have to and the taxpayer is always being taken for a ride. As I have said in an earlier post there could be a cheaper (but not so glamorous) way of catching offenders than being in front of the cameras (again) and cruising around in what must be a very expensive vehicle.
Sadly, motorways are boring in the most part and it’s very tempting to have a device that connects you an ever more interesting world, eg social media etc and I think this is the problem. Listening to the radio perhaps just doesn’t cut it anymore.
There’s nothing more scary watching somebody trying to text and drive at the same time - I give them the horn treatment.
Did anyone see the programme where they showed his identical twin brother?
Also a traffic cop!
Blimmin heck, the’s two of him ! ! !

IIRC the trucks they are using a lent to them FOC anyway by dealers.
Policing should not be about money it should be about cutting crime I Imagine the actual cost to of having that truck on the road is only marginally more than a normal traffic car
