Beware: Angus is back out & about

I know two radio’s don’t come under the same regs as mobile’s, but double standards, still only using 1 hand to steer.

I’ve seen that.
M5 North going onto M42 East.
Assuming its the one I’ve seen, its a 60 plate.
Saw it parked on M5 North h/s after having pulled a lorry over.
Seemed a bit odd that the tractor unit was there as well as police car, but at the time Ithought it was a breakdown with tractor unit there to pull the load.
Saw it again a few mins later in my mirror while trying to pull out to overtake.
It was coming up fast too, so let it get past, followed by the marked unit.
Then I saw it on the M42 eastbound where it pulled a hire van over.

one rule for them and try not to get court for us  i hate the hitler ■■■■ :exclamation:

So they’ll do a driver using his phone, fair enough, but PC Angus can use a handheld radio with impunity.
One rule for them…

I wonder if traffic plod realise how despised they are by real coppers, not as it would make scrap of difference to them either way.

Is specialised training given for the police to use them ?

government website on law for mobile phone usage:
You can use hands-free phones, sat navs and 2-way radios when you’re driving or riding. But if the police think you’re distracted and not in control of your vehicle you could still get stopped and penalised.

Oh look, one rule for the Pigs and one for the Workers.
On nights, I see loads of Foreigners watching something on their Laptop as the over take me (I’m doing 55mph on M25).

That is seriously taking the ■■■■ the way that Scottish, long faced ■■■ is using that radio. I’m sending this to the DPP making a formal complaint. That is no way that can be misconstrued as legal. :imp:

I know one thing - I would not like to pit my safe driving skills against those highly trained traffic cops especially if using a communication device at the same time - they would win hands down !!

I would also opt to be driven by an officer with that level of training and using a communication device against any other driver who was not using such a device

Fellow ants, the ant elders have not authorised use of their technology

Thou must obey thee.

what’s the difference between Aberdeen Angus doing that and a driver using a CB mike?

FFS its not one rule for them and one for us, their radio is 2 way therefore is not covered by the same law, whether you like it or not that is the law, the coppers don’t make it. If they couldn’t use hand held radios then they cant do their job. If people cant be bothered to invest in hands free kits or similar and get caught then its their own problem. I don’t use mine on the move but i am guilty of doing other stuff with it when in traffic etc, i’m not going to go crying about it if i get caught. Its not a stealth tax, its not picking on truck drivers its the ■■■■■■■ law, the same as driving hours.

That doesn’t sit with the agenda of quite a few on here of being mercilessly picked on and persecuted by those from on high.

What on earth would we do if lorry drivers had nothing to moan about or blow out of all proportion? Think of all that awkward silence in RDC waiting rooms and ferry restaurants!

Could be replaced by civilised and interesting conversation like in nearly all other walks of life… oh wait…

Nothing …which is why using a CB mic isn’t illegal either

The laws for all communication devices are the same with hand held mobiles having an extra law attached - if any use of a communication device causes the driver to be inattentive then a charge of DWDCaT can be brought

The only reason a seperate extra law was made was because they were causing are major issue whereas the others are not so much of an issue

If tens of thousands of drivers started using CBs then expect an extra law to be made for those

So back to the moaning about angus using a hand held radio (not a phone) much as many lorry drivers would when using a CB radio, at what point does Angus display a level of driving below what would be an acceptable standard in that video? That is what would need to be proved if all those baying for his blood wanted him prosecuted.

As for the ‘I’ve been nicked for eating an apple while driving’ etc. Seems firstly it’s all anecdotal evidence resulting from RDC waiting room chinese whispers, secondly the actual offence would have been careless driving, whereby eating the apple caused the standard of driving to fall below an acceptable level. If someone can’t eat an apple and keep an artic in a straight line, maybe they are in the wrong job as they are far too inept to be trusted to conduct themselves on the road in a safe manner. Of course ‘I’m a completly un coordinated pillock who can’t put something in my mouth without trying to side-swipe 2 lanes of traffic’ doesn’t make the poor driver sound persecuted as much as ‘■■■■■■ copper nicked me for eating an apple’!

they couldnt catch a cold so how they going to catch diesel/load thieves …oh there not just out to get the driver again

Why blame the cops when its a lack of secure parking which is the problem ?
