We even have two German driver’s at Genk, they both live in Berlin and come down to Genk in a shared car. They drive for two to two and a half weeks and then go home for a long weekend. They aren’t bothered where they drive to,so seeing as they are away from home anyway at weekends, they drive Spain & Italy.
And they earn a ■■■■ sight more with us than with a German firm, including Willi-Betz in Germany!
i see willy betz nearly everyday in burton they run from toyota to johnson controls in burton and back to toyota theres no tilts no euroliners just tandem axle box vans and every one ive seen are right hand drive.ive been told recently that a firm from the west midlands that appeared in a truck mag is close to going under because someone undercut him after reading who he worked for. they phoned the company he contracted to and said theyed do it cheaper,so may i suggest that before people go blameing the likes of betz, nobby and others for ruining uk haulage we should look at uk haulage bosses first this level playing field doesnt exsist on a domestic front let alone european. uk firms are always undercutting each other and some of the big names are the worst for it.

whose the french company you work for fella ?
Transalliance Gruppe owned by HN Transport & Michel from Nancy
Are they any good ? Havent they got english wagons here / and or depot ? YES
Would that be Transports Michel ? If they arte the firm I am thinking of they date back from the seventies. YES
HN Transport, cant say I’ve heard of them.
HN Transport is and was part of the Hessanatie Group, but now it is run under the Transalliance banner.
Harry Vos uses eastern europeans because Harry Vos bought out the companies they worked for, exactly like Christian Salvesan and DHL have done. Exactly the same as Innovate by buying Phil Hanley, exactly the same as Paul Stiller buying Pete Osbourne. You work for the company that pays the wages, whether that is Euroad in Poland or Somat in Bulgaria
With regards to Harry Vos. I know he bought that Polish company and you’d expect those to still have Polish drivers but what about all the Dutch trucks that he’s got that date back far beyond the purchase of any other outfits. I remember Vos trucks having Dutch, German, Belgian and Italian drivers but have recently only come across Vos trucks with Polish, Estonian and I think some Hungarians? I know a while back that he actually physically got rid of alot of German drivers and replaced them with God knows who, but surely all Vos drivers are not E.Europeans? I dont know how many truck’s he’s got but he does still employ and continue to employ Dutch truckers doesn’t he?

Harry Vos does employ dutch drivers, Im not sure about Germans, I cant think of any German companies he has bought, maybe a few in the East. I see many Vos trucks at our customers in France and many are driven by the French.
VOS is a good brand name, is well respected in Europe and lets customers bring all the distribution under control, instead of ringing round 15 subcontractors to find out when the load will be there.
The main problem in Europe is that the forward thinking companies bought up many East European hauliers many years ago in anticipation of the new enlarged EU. As usual the UK hauliers buried their head in the sand and waited for the bang
From what I remember the German drivers were from depots in Germany, I’m not sure if those depots were formerly German companies Vos bought or just depots he opened. It wasn’t all that long ago it happened, probably about the time the 8 E.Europeans joined the EU in 04 or maybe slightly earlier.
Not really.
Betz wants Agency workers i got told

Did you know, Betz driver’s are only getting paid when the wheel’s are turning and they’re parked up weeks at a time waiting for work, also there is a test case pending against Betz , where the T & G is asking for eastern european drivers working in the uk to be paid the minium wage. I think most people will know Wiii Betz as a user of low paid eastern european labour.…and Stobarts are running bent…and Nobby Distresstriangle’s buying his own ferry…and my mate got coned off for 9 hours on a Tesco loading bay…and Irish fridges have steel under the hanging meat…and…
No sarcasm intended then, Lucy You
re right - we are sometimes very gullible and tend to take everything as gospel. Personally, I think if the reported rates of £8/hr are correct, then it
s not bad just for trailer swaps

The eastern drivers of wili betz do get paid only mileage money and this
is the reason why he can afford to have two drivers in the lorrys ,yes for western liveing standards it is low but for the drivers from the east it is a good wage and he does unlike some employers of eastern workers look after his drivers, that is why they stay with the firm,
LMFAO some of these replies have me in tears, especially the hungarian drivers with the shell suits, and white socks, and the guy who said Well not on her face lmfao
