You could just have saved “my bacon” Johnnie phew! On closer inspection it does look like a Seddon axle, and those air tanks are, or are very like, those on a Seddon too! further detective work needed or a clear declaration that this shot is in the Woodstock factory in Oldham! Fingers crossed!1 Dennis.

Spot on Trev!! Seddon top mounted,Guy bottom mounted wipers----that must be one of the small differences! But looking at that factory shot does it look like the chassis has Lock actuator brake chambers? Dennis.

I would call that “wilful” revman, very!!!,what a trick to pull!!! I suppose I deserved the "wind up"but when the “forensic” experts on the thread confirmed it as a Seddon I took my tin hat off!!! They didn’t build many of those at Seddon.I wonder who built the most—Seddon or Guy■■? Cheers Dennis.

Gardner 180 in a 1968 ERF 6 wheeler for me - deep, slow rumble and nice n warm in the winter sat next to that bonnet as an 11 year old. Bit of a drawback in the summer though eh …

I know it’s not an engine but I also loved the noise the Bedford TK brake/clutch made - virtually impossible to write it on here but those that know it, know what I’m on about

My father used to run a Scammell crusader 6x4 ex pickfords with a detroit diesel v8 two stroke twin eminox exhausts people still comment on it now and its been 20 years since we ran it ,dad said it was a machine used to turn fossil fuel into sound energy !
