Paolo Nutini mate. absolutely brilliant, probably best known for this record but he has lots of new stuff obviously.

Did the band check your Reg Grundys?
Brilliant, now that sort of thing would have been right up my street. Glad you enjoyed it.

Really enjoyed it mate, not my usual sort of thing tbh but I could see how this would appeal to a lot. If I was 20 years younger it would be a fantastic lifestyle but at my age now it was more interesting than anything. Nice just to say I have done it.
were your ears still ringing as you drove away? totally deaf?

Your not wrong there mate. I didnt realise how loud these concerts are in person. Seen them on the TV and the volume is unbelievable in real life. I feel I have tinatus today.
This is just so good to read, you really are enoying it and it is clear to see.
Good on yer and for all the postive vibes you bring to this forum, it was much needed.
Thank you.

You know what they say mate, …‘‘If the music is too loud, you are too old’’
It would be right up my street that, and I ain’t been to a gig for ages, last one was ELO about 4 years ago, need to start looking again
I always keep an open mind on artists, never been a ‘music snob’ .I’ll listen to anything between AC DC,.and George Michael… I aint heard much of Nuttini’s stuff, but yeh given the chance I’d go and see a (free ) gig like you did.
On a side note did anybody see Simple Minds on tv last night?
Jim Kerr now looks like everybody’s middle aged uncle …, but Christ he’s still got it.

Neither had I mate, I asked my daughter who knew straight away who he is. She was more excited than I was for me. Big surprise when I was asked to join the band at dinner, I was finaly her greatest hero!! Too old for it? Yes in my case most certainly but had a cracking night all the same, his music is indy type stuff if that means anything. I knew some of the songs but I would have not known his name which I suspect is the same for you too. You would know the songs from the radio but not known his name.

I suspect I’m a little older than you mate, so you are never too old for it.
(I did know who he was btw, …he’s from Glasgow ain’t he?)
I’ve always been into good music, my latest ‘discovery’ is Sam Fender,.a young geordie lad, but as I said I’m kinda into anything that’s good.
Got stick on here during lockdown for recommending Marti Pellow’s pod casts, but water off a ducks thingy to me mate …we’ve got tickets to see him in March in fact, but on the other hand I’ve seen bands like the ‘Eagles’ ‘Free’ ‘Bad co’ and ‘Yes’ but I’ve also seen ‘Spandau Ballet’. so that shows my very varied tastes.

That was a big shock for me as he had a really strong scottish accent, with his name I was expecting an Italian accent. Just got a bit confusing at first. Not sure of your age mate but I am 62 but still feel 22, after last night I feel 62, bit of a reality check for me. Never been to gigs but must admit I am planning on going to some more now.
many years ago I had a girlfriend who worked in a promotion agency - around this ime of the year she offered free tickets to a gig the following July in Southern ireland . As I couldn’t see us sticking it that long I turned them down .
The year 1986
the venue - Slane castle
The band - QUEEN
What a plonker I was.
Got married and over the years the were a few bands that played Slane that I’d have liked to have seen Oasis , Guns and Roses , Foo fighters and Bryan Adams but with a young family there was always a reason that I just couldn’t get . This year I took my daughter and 3 of her mates down to Dublin for a Harry Styles concert and they have tickets for him next year in Slane and to say thanks they all chipped in and bought me a ticket as well . So I’m finally getting to a concert in Slane - and I don’t really care who’s playing - the fact the daughter and her mates chipped together to get me a ticket means more than what band is playing . Holidays are booked and I’m going to have a great time .

Yep we’re similar age mate, but my age has absolutely no bearing to the way I feel (or act
) whether I look it is up to others to decide…but sometimes I do feel it
I have to stop myself these days from reacting, by setting my self up to blokes (usually of the d/head variety) that I sudennly realise are 30 years younger than me, …but my Mrs usually brings me down to earth on those occasions when we are out, in her own inimitable way.
As for gigs, look who is touring who you like…and go for it .

Fantastic story mate, hope you enjoy it! I am sure you will, I am now a bit rock n roll.
I recently did Karnivool and Kiss, locally. I’d never heard of the former.
Next month I’ve got a two week tour with Cold Chisel, one of my favourite bands. I wonder if they’ll still be favourite after fourteen concerts.
Star down under.:
