Star down under.:
I recently did Karnivool and Kiss, locally. I’d never heard of the former.
Next month I’ve got a two week tour with Cold Chisel, one of my favourite bands. I wonder if they’ll still be favourite after fourteen concerts.
Depends massively on the artist/group. Most are decent/approachable/respectful/appreciative etc but you also get the odd indifferent ones (you’re there to do a job nothing else) and also the odd turd (you’re my personal slaves, all of you).
The very worst I experienced was Mika. Such an arrogant ■■■■■■. Irony is most people would be like “who is Mika” but yeah such a knob.

Ha ha you didn’t get on with MIKA then, you need to relax take it easy. He was such a germaphobe he must be an absolute nightmare to tour with now, I never had any problems with him though

Nothing exceptional here as a music driver meet the artists, catering watch the show it’s all about the AAA Laminate
To me it was exceptional as this was not my normal job, I usually take pensioners on holiday so as a one off for me personally it was an experience I have never had in my whole life. Perhaps to a driver doing this regularly, it is an everyday occurrance. I will never forget it put it that way.

As a tour driver it is an everyday occurrence whether your driving a crew bus or an artist bus makes o difference oh and you get to go all over Europe and beyond
Fantastic, especially as you are getting paid for the privilege!
I’m going to see Paolo Nutini in Cardiff this Friday. Seen him once before and I couldn’t understand a word when he was talking on stage, but I love his music!

He is very good I agree mate, the same with me talking to him, it became embarrasing asking him to repeat himself as I could only make out odd words. But what a vocalist though. I am now a fan too.

I can see the appeal and how it could become normal, my encounter was quite by chance and circumstance so it was a big deal for me not being used to this sort of thing. I am still in awe of normal holiday tours so you can imagine my first encounter like this as a one off special. Chance of it again but we do have drivers who do this type of work regular. I am not one of them. Still found it awsome though.

He was a knob mate. Not just me saying it either. We just got on with our stuff and ignored it then laid into him when he wasn’t around

I was speaking to a driver who was on the rock n roll tour trucks. On a one truck tour they would get pally with the bus driver and hang out when not driving or whatever.
He was on a tour for the lass from the voice, Anne Marie (had to google that). Turned out she was also a complete knob they would move her jigsaw pieces about when she wasn’t on the bus and things like that.
