I know they run from Boston, but do the have a yard on the good side of the pennines,
I lose count of the number of their I see everyday going over the 62.
there main yard is in boston and they have a satalite depot at immingham
so sorry mate that all they got
And here’s a sad tale about them…
I was picking up in Halifax last week,at a kitchen manufacturer, and it was ■■■■■■■ down with rain, and in the middle of the yard was one of their drivers, polishing his wheel trims with his tin of Peek.
Too much time on his hands methinks.
Ken.
his choice Ken surely - what’s the problem with that
think its the ■■■■■■■ down bit ,
think its the ■■■■■■■ down bit
Correctamundo.
Ken.

Not a surprise when you see the way they drive. They must be on percentage.

If Connor comes back I think you might need to duck
£6.50 per hour. nice truck does not pay the rent.
My truck cleaning runs to driving through a truck wash, if there isnt one it does not get cleaned.

Thats a ■■■■■■■ insult !!!
plus if you give up your holidays you get some fancy lights,
1 days hols = 1 light.
4 weeks hols = bull bar.

Yeah,I heard some time ago the money was crap.
do believe they’re on a % of what the wagon earns so the £6.50 if correct is purely a basic, know one fella who packed in agency to go with them and says it’s a good job, horses for courses i spose
They pay hourly £6.50
no %
I asked Andrew Bates, one of the gaffers.
Edwards right its £6:50, I know one lad thats recently left there employment and onto better pastures.
All the flash no cash is spot on. They are avertising at the moment for drivers!
A few drivers left then signed on local agency then got sent back to Bentons on agency at better rates .
Many just go west/east over 62 daily some others do Norfolk Line stuff going all over.
£6.50 i thought minimum wage was more than that.

£5.35 is the minimum wage unless you want to take a risk on 21 year olds and you get away with paying them £4.45 per hour.
I know, it stinks
Been employed just under a year with Bentons, and don’t intend leaving.
OK, the pay isn’t the best, but after 8 hours it does go up.
All the trucks are high spec, all high roof models, decent size engine, only the older Scanias being as low as 420hp.
As many nights out as you want.
Most of the work is on regular contracts, mainly the M62 corridor with a few forays further afield.
We have around 20 units on Norfolkline, nationwide, this morning I got back from Edinburgh, monday I’m off to Aberdeen.
I think we are treated reasonably well, although we do have a large turnover of drivers, not always their cup of tea.
Servicing is excellent, they even grease the curtain runners on the trailers, hence, the only damage to the curtains is the curtain cutters on the MSAs.
You want extra shiney bits, you buy them, the workshop will fit them.
There is no pressure either to polish them up, just wash them occasionally, so the extra cleaning is the drivers own choice.
The driver polishing his wheels, was it a guy about 6ft 8ins with a Scania, probably the best looking motor on the fleet.
