And I’ll still overtake and leave you standing with my Scania 380 on the flat…

Are you driving for Target in 1998?

49 seat coach limited to 62mph…

Have you not heard of the “must make boat” button on a v8?

Too traceable for me, I’m a wire/wedge man. I’m also way behind the times!

Oh, don’t forget your Marty Mone CD!

I don’t get it either. There was a young Irish lad in a Scanny pulling a Sawyers fridge in Lockerbie the other night picking up a set of chrome light bars he must’ve bought off someone and I thought he was going to cream his pants he was that excited.

Yeah chap at my place was eagerly telling me how he’ll be wiring up his next bank of lights on the front of his truck and how he’ll be in on Sunday to do it (in his own time).

I’m surprised he didn’t ask if I was having some form of stroke given how much I was screwing my face up…

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
if i was employing drivers again then i know which ones id rather have working for me…keen and mad for tar,or agency type british workmans union dobbers…bit of a no brainer.

Again though… There’s a balance.

Why go into work especially when you can do it of an evening when parked up? Even, heaven forbid, partially on pay :open_mouth:

Having been doing brick and block work for the last couple of years and knowing how tight some of these building sites can be, my question is why would a boss want to pay for a flash v8 when say a 450 will earn him the same money.

Speed over the ground and I’m not condoning speeding but when you are on max weight every load you need to be able to cover the ground quickly to get around especially on brick work when the sites open late and close early and the brickworks do the same. Never worked in an industry where both collection and delivery points made it so difficult to get a full day in.

As others have mentioned, if you wanna pay me another £3 ph more to drive an old dog, as long as it’s legal…gimme the keys.

I’m a bit more fussy. Having driven a wagon where the heater matrix went and the owner decided that bypassing it and using the night heater was acceptable until he took it out one day and froze like I had been for the previous months, I add a working heater and a radio to that.

Night heater and radio should be part of your daily checks!

Love it when these guys look over thinking they’re impressing me when they throttle up as they go past me :unamused: .
They’d be a bit miffed if they knew that all it makes me think of and reminds me of, is when I used to run my old Sed Atk with a bust exhaust.

I saw a V8 the other day, blinged up in the usual fashion. Even had the Michelin Man figures on from way back. Above the door it said King Of The Road and on the bottom step it said 3 Steps To heaven :unamused:

The door opens and who steps down from heaven ?

A woman in a V8 bomber jacket

Guess it’s not just us men who catch the Tang.

robroy:
Just curious …how do you ‘‘hack’’ a V8 exactly?

Does he want a driver or a computer tech?
