The rear sheet being short would allow a vast amount of water spray due to being right over the 3 axles,however perhaps the load wouldn’t have been negatively affected by the spray,but a nicely roped and sheeted load nonetheless.

That was a Bedford demonstrator that never actually pulled anything in earnest for John Brown, he preferred to keep using his Volvo’s and Mack’s at the time.

Typical Freddy Ray trailers there, the majority never had any headboards fitted. More obvious by the John Darbyshire one parked next to the Marathon with just a short headboard, was common for Rays to have the boxes overhanging the front of the trailer.

Watson’s are long gone poikey, it’s now a mixture of housing and commercial premises where their yard was.
