According to todays lying press…it seems Mr B…pleaded not guilty…so which paper do we believe ■■..it also stated that the judge has now said, there is enough evidence to prosecute, and theyre checking to see whether the NIP had a first class stamp…if it did, then thats not a reason to get of the case, as it was deemed to be the fault of Royal Mail…I wait with anticipation as to whether my mate dave
gets off with it.
1st class, ask for free proof of posting. Deemed delivered 2 days later.
dieseldog999:
when they send the nip it is deemed to have been delivered within 2 working days whether you get it or not.
it only needs to be sent to the registered owner within the 14 days and the day of the offence dont count as the 1st day.
it makes no difference as to how long it takes to get passed down the line to the driver whether weeks or months, but the owner is deemed to have it within 2 days unless he can prove otherwise.
its the same for most gov departments.
Wasn’t that the crux of the case, they had the manager of Bentleys post room on the stand who obviously proved them wrong. There was another NIP for the same car one week earlier [emoji23]
well if bently dont back up beckham, then itl be no more bentlys leased for him and his pals, hence head to the witness stand.
all they need to do now is make sure they lease cars from a company with 2 or 3 sections of mail offices as buffer and hey presto,no more speeding fines for the weathy.

It wasnt a loophole he used. The authorities have a set of rules and regulations that they have to follow. Those rules weren’t followed and the prosecution failed. If that had been anyone else, no one would care. Not really - as we know the NIP has to be served within 14 days and the police have the luxury of the rule that states “post is deemed to be served 2 days after posting” . In this case the police posted on day 10. So when Beckhams lawyer first claimed they did not recieve the notice until day 15, he was told that he would need to fight it in court.
So how many working class people, how many wagon drivers, how many ordinary blokes would have the wherewithal to accept the challenge and with potential ruinous costs hire a top lawyer and bring in a number of expert witnesses ?
I rest my case - wealth buys justice in this country and that is wrong, very very wrong.

+1
this 100%
if it wasnt for having the means to pay whatever it takes, they he would have been done the same as anyone else on here.
its just double standards.
when the gov posts to you,its proof positive to them that you recieved it 2 days later, but when you post to them ind it goes missing, then as far as they are concerned you didnt post it.
your only proof is if you pay 2 quid to the gov for recorded delivery whereas they just frank the letter and send it with no proof other than the computer sais it went into the mailbag .
if it wasnt a high profile case, then the judge wouldnt have accepted the argument
Dinnae get me wrong, I no have a problem with becks, quite like the lad. And I’m no too fussed about the speeding, would need to see the road and amount of traffic before getting myself all offended. (and a bit cynical a truckie moaning about 56 in a 40, its what most do in scotland all day)
My beef is with the powers that be that allow the moneyed amongst us to do as they please, and all this after the HMRC revealed they didn’t go after the celebrities and the super-rich as they didn’t like having to go to prison. seriously

You don’t need a top lawyer, I appealed a conviction by doing research on the net and pepipoo, ended up at the old bailey and won my case.
How did all of…
Miss it? The most obvious gag possible and a real groaner at that.
Remember, no one can bend it like Beckham.
