I bet DB doesn’t even know what the bill is from Mr Loophole.
Maybe OT but related. Was watching a programme recently about Concorde and a survey was done, did the customers know how much they paid? As they had flunkys doing their work. The majority overestimated by thousands lol… so BA put the price up!!
Can’t agree with those that say good luck to him. He’s just being ■■■■■■■ arrogant. He and everyone else knows he did it, yet he has to be a smart arse instead of coughing up the fine which he’d hardly miss out of what he’s worth. Maybe someone at Bentleys helped delay it.
why does anyone think having a justice system that favours the fabulously wealthy is somehow a good thing ?
for many on here doing similar could have had 6 points, increased insurance premiums for years, even potential of loosing job with long term financial consequences. What a deeply unfair country we live in.
Harry Monk:
"She said: “What I find is the fact it did not arrive in the post room of Bentley Motors Ltd until 7 February and therefore was one day outside the legal limit.”
So it fell through the letterbox of Bentley Motors Ltd by the 6th, but took a day to get to their post room, 20 feet away. Well here’s the answer for Joe Public then, set up a post room at home at take 24 hours to get any suspicious letters from the doormat to it.
i wonder what it costs to have a post handling service in ulan bator…!

In the day he was.making a fortune then one day he got a letter of his bank so he was over drawn by a few grand.
Then he realised he had a cheque in his draw for 1.5 million he forget to.pay it in
Well IMO, If he was a HGV Driver he would have got done, A lot of these proffesional footballers like his old manager at Man U , he got away with driving on the hard shoulder of a motorway, I rest my case, Regards Larry.
Personally, I’d like to see him done over by the court and end up paying a lot more in the way of fine and points than he would have done if he’d just done the right thing and coughed up.
We can all moan about him getting off with it because he used a fancy lawyer all we want but much like whinging about rich people dodging paying tax, if we could do it and get away with it, we would
Anybody else think driving at 59 mph in a 40, (which he admits), is an example of:
Driving that falls below the standard expected of a competent driver;
or.
Driving that does not show reasonable consideration for other persons using the road or pathways.
It wasnt a loophole he used. The authorities have a set of rules and regulations that they have to follow. Those rules weren’t followed and the prosecution failed. If that had been anyone else, no one would care.

I got done in 1958 for doing 32 mph in a 30 mph at Huddersfield at 2 0 am in the morning just coming past the ICI Factory where the Reynolds clock was, The policeman was a right cheeky git, He read me the riot act and said he would be watching out for me as it was one of my reguler runs, I got fined £2.00 which the union paid, £2.00. was a canny bit to fork out in those days, Regards Larry.

Nothing to do with competence, just ignorant and arrogant like many drivers that speed and think the rules do not apply to them.
Harsher penalties required. BAN them, roads are too busy anyway.

Not really - as we know the NIP has to be served within 14 days and the police have the luxury of the rule that states “post is deemed to be served 2 days after posting” . In this case the police posted on day 10. So when Beckhams lawyer first claimed they did not recieve the notice until day 15, he was told that he would need to fight it in court.
So how many working class people, how many wagon drivers, how many ordinary blokes would have the wherewithal to accept the challenge and with potential ruinous costs hire a top lawyer and bring in a number of expert witnesses ?
I rest my case - wealth buys justice in this country and that is wrong, very very wrong.

if it wasnt for having the means to pay whatever it takes, they he would have been done the same as anyone else on here.
its just double standards.
when the gov posts to you,its proof positive to them that you recieved it 2 days later, but when you post to them ind it goes missing, then as far as they are concerned you didnt post it.
your only proof is if you pay 2 quid to the gov for recorded delivery whereas they just frank the letter and send it with no proof other than the computer sais it went into the mailbag .
if it wasnt a high profile case, then the judge wouldnt have accepted the argument
