If children at school on career day were given two choices and HAD to pick one between hgv driver or carrot picker,I have a fair idea of which one they would pick.
HGv driver may not be a “prestige” job but its a ■■■■ sight more appealing than pulling orange things out the ground and chucking them in a bucket for 10 hours a day

Lol 10, on £6.75 an hour your be picking for 18, 7 days, so as to pay your import duty…and I’ve been a riddler in past so I know how long some of these folk work, on the books of course.

Zb no, I was labelled a lonely security guard initially then I was upgraded to carrot picker by the TNUK community so that’s what I do, for now…

I used to be a cleaner at McDonald’s many moons ago, mopped floors, did the toilets etc for minimum wage (& the odd nugget or 2). Like I said I’m a good guy

Luckily I never made it to them lol but yup I’ve suffered that stigma, never any real public stuff as my firm were specialists in industrial/bio/crime work, but general office was very common, special needs places…vile job, 3 solid years of it, luckily I got out of the gutter roles after 1yr went into the real dark stuff, averaging 18 a day over every 7, 24/7 callout 365 regardless of hours done you still have to go… Vicious job, interesting, but absolutely diabolical working life.
