I’d say we are a rarity. Certainly not representative. Its fair to say that my drivers all say they’ve never had a job like this one. In a good way.

i was taking 588 home for 5 days tramping 65hours of work.and that is not too much.so i qiut.Truck me, I take that home with no nights out Monday to Friday on basic hours
I knew I was on a good screw but this thread has opened my eyes too.
I think my boss deserves a ■■■■■■■■ Monday morning… I’ll see if the wife’s busy.
And that’s what a LOT of others/us are looking for pal…
There are a few here that are on a good gig from what I’ve gleamed, the rest of us are pricks, mugs or stupid.
I’m thinking I’ve got all bases covered!

Some luck or lateral thinking is needed too.
The art is in finding the good jobs when there are no pointers where they might be found, then if do you manage to land one appreciating and protecting it and doing all you can (going that extra mile, doing your job well) to make it last…this is where it often goes pear shaped, cos some take it for granted within weeks of landing it and soon as qualified start abusing the salaried position with sickies etc and ■■■■■■■ about.
Quite why they can’t get it through their thick skulls that a once in a lifetime job might well mean exactly that a once in a lifetime job, so why ■■■■■■■■ it up…

Well all I can say to that is a big THANKYOU, I’ve a way too go before I’m CE but your approach to the Industry, drivers is exactly the type of environment I’m looking for, and by sound of it many others are too…

Something that is missed by a lot of folk from what I see in my limited time in this game I’m thinking…
I’ve already come across drivers that are more than capable, but the second things don’t go their way the toys are all across the yard!
They have then said to me that if I find a good gig to let them know. But my thoughts are bugger you, as the last thing I want is for them to come onto a contract that I might be lucky enough to get on, and them screw it up by acting like a prick. I’ve seen a driver that is a good guy and generally a hard worker spit his dummy because the night driver of his truck moved his Sat-Nav. He stormed up to the office and kicked off acting like it was his truck and he owned it, At that moment I decided that IF i ever got on to a good gig, I couldn’t bring him along as he would be a liability…
Some people are their own worst enemy…
