45 hrs/week for me, unless I volunteer for o/t shift at either 9 or 11 hrs. (which is quite often cos the pennies are good!)
About 65-70 a week on average 5 days one week 6 next.

Bloody hell that’s at least 20 hrs more than I average a week, that’s 2 days work extra every week.

I know. A large amount of it is spent lying on my bed on my iPad, but to be honest I don’t mind the hours.

If your tramping, why not do 65-75 hours if your away from home? It’s all money, which surely is why anybody chooses to tramp? Or am I out of touch…
The issue is more when places expect them sort of hours out of day men.
Yep 65-70 for me on average with the occasional 80+.

Start of shift to finish about 47 hours and paid for all.
That’s one hell of a shift! How does the rest of the week pan out…?

That equates 1 of his wks to 2 of mine with nearly a spare shift for me to play with, week in, week out…some of the wages for some of the hrs worked are, in my eyes, a total ■■■■ take out of people who know nothing other than driving trucks with the fat cat bosses knowing this and if they are not prepared to work 60-70hrs, there’s a few boatloads of folk on their way over who might just fit the criteria as a replacement.

.
Done all that ■■■■■■■■ mate, t.shirt etc etc, just not interested in maxing out every ■■■■ day any more.
The hours should be cut to max 12 a day imo, there’s more to life than a work sleep work sleep scenario,…and especially if that’s paired up to stopping in ■■■■ lay bys. (Which I have never done incidentally)
My hours are 55 to 60 Tues to Saturday…through choice.

I then have 5 days off to recover.
I average 55hrs and that’s too much
Roughly about 40 for £390 a week, obviously no nights out either
Class 2, salaried at 42 hours a week which equates to £435 gross weekly.
In reality I average 40ish hours max, never exceed my 42 hours salaried pay, no nights out and 10 minutes from home!
Great company, all the kit with no hassle, uniform etc - I’m very very happy!
58 the lowest and 66 the highest in 7 months normally 61-63. Take home 460 a week including 2 nights out a week sometimes only get 1 so bit less them weeks.
Salaried so that is total hours inc breaks never use poa work( driving and load/unload)probably 40 each week. Easy work and my 1st class 1 job.
Good(ish) kit some ■■■■ trailers.
Not the best place according to a lot of the drivers, but in my opinion not the worst. As a new driver to class1 I’m happy95% of the time.
Have said since I started I’ll give it 12 months and then re-evaluate and maybe look for better and nothing has happened to change that.
We do have a high turn over so clearly there is better. In my 1st 7 months I think 9 drivers have left and we only have about 30.

Exactly right mate. If you’re happy with the dough at the end of the month it really doesn’t matter what anyone else gets. I’ve found its useless to get into a ■■■■ measuring contest, as invariably someone else’s is always bigger. Constantly re-evaluating your needs, will mean you wont wake up one day and say, “holy ■■■■, I’ve been at the same place, same salary, for 10 years, and actually I’m miserable…”

Are you getting paid less than £450 gross for 60 hours mate?Time for a new job fella.
Yes. £365 a week for 5 “full” days. There’s £25 a night, and a couple of other bonuses too. Generally I take home about £380 for around 60hrs a week.
I’m certainly not afraid of grafting but I would rather be rewarded for it.
Think you’re all right, time to start looking elsewhere.
I would do at those rates too. If you are a grafter you’re unlikely to be looking long. Where in the country are you based?
I’m based in North East Lincolnshire. Grimsby / Immingham area.
Salaried based on an average 48hr over the year, and the company are keen to keep to 48hrs for WTD purposes. Usually finish each reference period at 48 hrs near as dammit. Average monthly take home £2100 plus £200 into pension, night out money on top of this.
Well after a bit of discussion with my TM it was clear that they were’t going to pay any more or reduce my expected hours, so I’ve jumped ship and gone elsewhere.
More money, overtime paid after 50hrs (I was doing 65+ for next to nothing) brand new FH500, good holidays…
Happy days!
Well done mate. Sounds like you handled the situation pretty well. Congratulations on the improved T&Cs and the happy days.
Well done , when will firms learn about good pay and conditions
