64, although I have had to pack it up now because of arthritis in the ankles. The last day I drove a lorry was three months ago - a shame, because it was a lovely little weekend job, on fridge work.

Yes David, that had to go as well, although I’m still on the County Council’s payroll as a Relief Driver. There are 3 other blokes in their sixties driving them. Most of these vehicles are 36 feet long, with a special purpose body on a DAF chassis - all up weight about 14 tonnes, so a ‘C’ licence is needed to drive them, but that’s reminded me of when I was young - in those days a lot of mobile libraries were (small) artics.
Do I count? I’m 19 and a half-ish, but I’m not a trucker. Yet.
