Wasnt there some office girls in the film for a bit too ash, and a mechanic welding in the workshop
Office girlsā ā ? urrr, donāt think so. Would have been nice to see a couple of um posing on the front of Daveās 140 though
Yes there was a mechanic. 2 infact. Tony Kierle was the one showing Dave P around the truck and Mick Payne was there doing a spot of welding. Sadly Tony was killed in a road crash some years ago, but Mick is still fit and well.
You ought to buy the film mateā¦get it from Old Pond Publishing 01473 238200
well if rayluv hates pc ! i would imagine his local oxfam shop would relieve him of it and do us all a favour at the same time.
i take it punctuation and spelling was not on your list of must does?

these should be easy border crossings to name
the top pic is at the csarda, after the ābattle of bekescabaā, who can identify the bottom picture?
exmoor badger:
Hi exmoor badger, I think that the first photo could be The Calafat Ferry across The Danude between Rumania and Vidin in Bulgaria.
Regards Steve.

Hiya badger, I am not sure if the guy on the left in the white T-shirt is a very young Peter Wall and the second picture looks like the dam in Rumania between Sibiu and Rimnicu Vilcia. The dam I.I.R.C. was built by The Chinese and took over six years to complete. The old road actually runs along where those columns on the bridge are and at a guess I would of said that they must of been at least 100ft high.
Nice to see ERFULA in itās natural habitat. a credit to itās previous owner

my memory is bad, i can only remember 3 of their names( 1 of them is mine!!!). 1st on the right had a 3300 daf with a considerable air leak, the fight started when we blocked the road and stopped the turks passing while he built up his air. we were all banned from hungary for life for that, and all came back through on different passports
Hi Badger, I hope that you dont mind me putting your photo on the right way.
My first thoughts were the border at Russe/ Guirgio but I dont think that were were allowed to stop on the bridge as I think that you did your customs just before the bridge.Failing that itās one of those borders crossing The Danube from Czecho into Hungary ( Haggywaggyneggyshaggieszeggishelom or something like that ).
I have just returned from TRNC, I saw an old ASTRAN tri axle tilt trailer on the road leading to the Ferry port at Kyrenia, centre wheel missing and resting on a bottle jack,I took a couple of pics, looked as though it had been dumped there,so if anyone interested I will send them on,just let me know.
Take it easy,
David

spot on first time, crossing from guirgui to russe, they didnt like you queueing on the bridge but when the bulgyās went on the booze you ended up spending the night there, then when the romanians realised they stopped sending any more over
Hi Badger, this was the bridge at Russe ( The Friendship Bridge ) as I remember it coming from the Rumo side .
And if that photo of yours is the dam between Sibiu and Rimnicu Vilcia then this is the old road that is now on the bottom of it.
