There is no trl tax in greece now, or if there is i have dodged it, going via greece is a about 2 hrs longer but border in my opinion is quicker, have to pay overtime in turkey if off an evening or holiday though, pop into greece have a shower and meal at marias, sort your paperwork out and get off to the border, unless you have managed to meet another guy at marias, in which case it would be rude not to have a drink with them…, or two

You poor boyo u know u owned a vespa with 25 rear view mirrors and 10 aerials with feathers .I never paid any Tax in Greece ,and £1000. for the Ferry is that one way it cant be surely no wonder the greek drivers have no money sounds like overland is the way .

Yep one way, of coorse if ya doing a selller thats only one ferry if you are round tripping its two! i also experimented with ferries and they vary a lot with time and seasons, think ancona to patras about £800 to a grand i done igoumista to brindisi last time as i loaded prevezia and that was only 275 euro, i prefered that ! But i still prefer east block where available.I generally reload italy, so i guess i will go out eastblock way and go back igoumista to brindisi, works for me, even if i did fly home this time !

Blimey, Roger!!! How did you know I was a “mod” before I 'grew my hair and went travelling? Yes, I did have a Vespa in the mid 60’s with all the ‘crap’ on it 
Strangely enough when I became a wagon driver I preferred the ‘plain’ look…no “I’ve been everywhere stickers” all over the cab.
Maybe the “trailer tax” was one of those stories/myths at the time and I believed it

Well i have MATE as you put it but been retired for a long while cant relly see much of the screen and hate pc bring back a transport planner a sheet and aa pencil

Hey Gert. Sadly ■■■■ Rivers passed away a number of years ago. Dave Poulton and Frank Hook are the only 2 surviving drivers from the film Destination Doha. Although John Frost had a minor part and Peter Cannon (transport manager) was also in it. They are both still alive and kicking. Great to see Dave and Frank back together again after 33 years! Ash.
Wasnt there some office girls in the film for a bit too ash, and a mechanic welding in the workshop…?
