Around the pumps

Yesterday my local BP filling station Petrol was a shocking £1.40 and Diesel was £1.47 :imp: :imp:

This morning just went past and they are both risen each a penny… :imp: :imp:

That is an increase of 1p a day for the last three days…WTF…■■ :imp: :imp:

Know this has been covered before but not for a while …So wots the price at the pumps local to you…■■

Fuelled the truck up at Bothwell Services yesterday and its a fraction under £1.50 p/l for derv.

Gotta love this, Fuel companies just profit abuse, and people still buy

■■■■■ for hauliers though, But what can you expect when most the politicians are probably getting backhanders for new policy :exclamation:

We arn’t the most expensive in Europe any longer.
European fuel prices are getting dearer, But at the same time they are becoming closer together.
Just a shame wages arn’t. If they did, Then people wouldn’t have to move from one country to another simply to food on the table.

I fancied a frothy coffee when I stopped at the services on the M42 the other day. I went off the idea when I saw that they wanted me to pay 3 quid for it. It’s the prices of this sort of thing (and snacks/choccy) that keeps their profits up.

Fuel is increasing because the £ is weakening against the $ (crude is bought in $s).

Also, remember: that cup of coffee costs them about 8p all in to make.

What would be interesting is a statistics chart showing where tax rise is plotted against fuel rise.

I reckon it would come out as the governments fault all the way.

Avonmouth £143.9 for diesel slightly cheaper up Asda or Morrisons @ Cribbs.

Asda in Telford was 143.9

£1.43.9 for diesel around Newcastle.

Better start saving now for the fuel money for our holidays in May and August. :unamused:

I think it might be a little bit more than that (at least if you have a Latte or Cappuccino, due to the milk content). What annoys me is that they charge the same as (or even more than) a High Street coffee shop, when the latter does at least provide a comfortable table and chair and serves it in a proper cup - maybe even a waiter/ess to bring it to the table while you sit and read your paper or simply chill out and watch the world go by.

And now I just read on sky news that food prices are to rise to pay for testing
So we pay out again they should be groveling to get us to buy their food

Same old same old I’m afraid. Keep buying (anything at all) at the price they set and it will never end. Why do people need to do a weeks shopping at exorbitant prices as well? Beats me! Just my own opinion btw!

I’d love to stop buying diesel, I’d struggle to get to work though and there are no jobs within cycling distance that pay the same as I get now.

If the job is within cycling distance it doesn’t need to pay as well, of course, since your daily travelling costs would be that much lower

I filled up an Iveco Daily three times yesterday. £1.429 at Shell Dreghorn,£1.479 at Skellow and a shocking £155.9 at Moto Wetherby.

£1.15 at the petrol station 300 yds from our yard     one advantage of living within spitting distance of the border in Ireland

Wouldn’t want to be working for you if that’s the best you can get your costings , you wouldn’t be in business long would you  8p all in to make
The guy, gal that takes your order will be on a minimum of 5.80 per hour(its the law you know)
The time they have spent taking your order, making the coffee, cleaning the area ready for the next order, serving it to you, taken your money and issued you with a receipt and your change, has already in wages alone exceeded 8p
Some people talk utter nonsense  8p all in to make
Rents, rates, equipment, uniforms, gas bills, electric bills, maintenance and upkeep of premises and parking areas, not to mention that they have to purchase the coffee , milk ,sugar, spoons, cups and saucers
8p all in to make
Some people would be better to keep quiet and be considered an idiot rather than speak out and remove all doubt

That was from a town centre coffee shop proprietor!

I seem to remember last year just before easter the prices rocketed, you know, just before a large jump in traffic volumes for holidays etc. Is there a pattern emerging methinks, captive audience, market forces or is this the retailers making a killing when everyone has to travel for the holidays.
