Can anyone tell me what has happened to that nation that once experienced products rationing for 15 years and just kept calm and carried on?
That was a world war tho and no-one could tell the difference between rationing and ordinary food back then anyway. It was either bread and dripping or bread and dripping under rationing.

Not strictly true, late 77 we were put on 24 hour standby, and then 2 hours later…….
In the morning I was windsurfing in Fig Tree Bay, just after lunch I was on a VC10 from Akrotiri to Brize, off the plane to do customs, back on it and flown up to Leeming, bus to Catterick, 1 hours training and then off in my Green Goddess to York.
Those were the days.
