im on nights on the 25th-28th

I’ve often offered to work 25th, but never been taken up on it.
Might have something to do with me asking for £25ph minimum, but from what I’ve been hearing, that’s quite achievable and has been for some time. :open_mouth:

Maybe I didn’t get any work because there wasn’t any left to be had then…

xmas eve, xmas day, boxing day nights, new years day, treble week end rate,3 x £22hr,plus bonus plus £60 shift lodge,12 years ago was £1000 a shift, some might get that still but I’m on long stretch of work so I’l ‘make do’,xmas great if you’ve small kids,me I’d rather work, than have January off

Planned being the key word
Fingers crossed it will change… will find out for definite Christmas eve

In this country they expect drivers to re-start at midnight on Christmas day, they don’t have Boxing day here, (Heathens) … I have always refused to work until the day after Boxing day at the earliest.
Back in 1989 on Fed Ex they asked me to work Boxing night, I was divorced and on my own so I agree’d to do it if they made it worth my while… They paid me a weeks wages for one night

Yer but you get Thanksgiving though

Finish for a week between Christmas and new Year - and I can’t wait!

I have to work xmas day boxing day errrr

I have booked Christmas Eve, Christmas day and Boxing day off. The rest of the time I’m available. I’ve seen recent new years in in various exotic places such as Davidstow and Chadwell Heath.

Found out I’d got 8 days hols to use by 31st so by not having to work weekends or bank hols unless I want too, I’ve managed to get 2 weeks off after tomorrow, so I’ve had the weekend off working today and tomorrow, 2 week off go back on the 2nd for 2 days then it’s the weekend again

I will be laid off this Friday and will spend the xmas holidays worrying where my next job is coming from. Fed up of changing agencies and quite frankly never bargained for this crap when I did my CPC and test back in July. 7 lads working with me on this job are squaddies and getting a army pay as well as this! My advice to any young uns out there thinking of a career doing HGV 1 is think again.
