doing my cpc the other day the trainer said theres going to be a massive shortage next sept as hardly anyone has done there cpc yet and when they all try to next year there wont be enough trainers and a lot wont be trained before sept.
Got one more day to do booked in for january.
All these who say there not doing it i can see some blokes might do the odd shift who might not bother or people with a licence but work at other things but how many full timers are going to do something else over it and have it lined up.
Ive got a feeling could be a lot of people doing if next summer

You could well be right in what your saying kr79, but I wont be one of them. I have had a lot of years and good times on trucks, but I have had enough of it now I just want out of it. This is as good a way as any to get rid of white line fever. If I don’t have the CPC I can’t do the job, my next option is I fail my medical in January, ether or both will work.
I put yes, but mines is the initial qualification
I am seeing alot of jobs advertised with full cpc as a requirement and welcoming new drivers, maybe we will see an end to the 2+ years of experience (maybe not)
having my dqc was one of the main reasons I was given a full time job straight after passing my class 2
I’ve said many times on here I haven’t done any and I will not do any, nothing’s changed. Especially when you hear stories like one of our lads told me the other week. 5 mins into the day and the trainer says, " I don’t know why I’m telling you lot this, I don’t even have an HGV licence, you lot know more about it than me"! That said you do notice more & more employers wanting drivers with it, or at least some of it.
I’m intending to take a good book and sit at the back reading it, stopping only to point out the more obvious howlers from the instructor. My activity levels will decline after lunch as I also intend to find a convivial hostelry in which to while away the lunch hour.
Are there not some who’ve completed their 5th module before September this year, and will then find themselves owing 7 hours when the 2008 module rolls off September next year?
Full timers I know have been doing one single 7 hour module for the last 5 years, so doing it like that, I’m thinking you have to do another new one each and every year?
