Anyone you won't buy from now?

After delivering a couple of weeks ago to a local eating establishment, and seeing them pour rancid cream into a dish being prepared, I’ve decided I won’t eat there again. Also there’s a make of car I certainly wouldn’t buy after spending a while on a parts contract and seeing hundreds of replacement engines and gearboxes delivered to just 10 dealerships over a few months.

Is there anything you won’t buy anymore after what you’ve seen at work?

I don’t mean “I won’t buy from Tesco because of the way they treat drivers at their RDC’s” or because they are nasty to the environment etc.

Anyone got any interesting stories they can share?

That wouldn’t be a Toyota by any chance? I used to work for a dealer near horsham, we used to do a lot of engine builds (toyota wouldn’t let us claim for complete engines so we had to claim for each individual part and build it ourselves), now they let the dealers fit complete engines which is good for the mechanics but not a lucrative for the parts departments who can’t earn bonus on built engines.

I wont buy anything french.

Not quite the same as not buying something but having worked in the catering trade for a few years many moons ago I will not complain in an eating establishment and then continue to eat there. Complain and leave, yes. Complain and stay, not a chance.

Apart from that I don’t have anything I use I won’t buy because of it’s origins or anything else.

Chicken soup

I won’t spend any money with News International (the Sun newspaper etc). The hacking of dead soldiers phones and the phone of murdered schoolgirl Milly Dowler is beyond acceptable.

Also I would never subscribe to Sky which the alleged criminal Murdoch has a large stake in, I don’t even like touching the Sun when I throw copies of it in the bin that have been left in our canteen.

Like the dopes we have become in this once great nation, people still buy it. Then to top it all this sickening and odious excuse for a man tries to buy his way out of trouble with a 2 million sweetener to the Dowler family. Think about it the next time you’re buying your daily paper.

Proper scrumpy cider with bits in it.

Very cautious of farm shops after having delivered to a few. There’s one such on the A58, if you come off M62 at J26 and head for Leeds on the A58 it comes up on the left just after you go over the motorway bridge, they always have 3000 ads placed at the entrance to it. Delivered meat there once and [zb] me the inside of the prep area nearly made me puke. There was discarded raw meat laying all over the place and the flies!!!.. you couldn’t move for them. The little “farm shop” building adjacent to it looks fine and you’d never think there was anything untoward going on :open_mouth: .

I’d never buy a house built in the past 20 years either. I have friends and family in the house building trade and I’ve seen first hand how they’re thrown together with very poor workmanship.

Flights with British Airways
used them once from heathrow to los angeles and it was the worst flight i have ever been on, after takeoff they served the food and then it was lights out with only one snoty attendent on each isle to serve drinks until around 2 hours from la when the rest of the crew appeared to serve tea and biscuits.

I still wont eat Pot Noodles having delivered the ingredients to Paulsgrove in 1985, even if someone is eating one in the same room, it makes me want to chuck

With what rob has said above about houses, I wouldn’t buy a house newer than 30 years old.

Also doing a lot of work for asda I very rarely shop there due to the way I’ve seen their food treated on pallets and especially the chilled in cages. I know the stuff is in packets and boxes but it isn’t treated with any respect gentle handling.

Yep British airways as well as they always seem to strike when it’s busiest times without a consideration for those family’s who have saved hard all year.

Aeroflot!

i delivered flour to an asian warehouse in dewsbury , seen a plastic box with 20 “frozen” kebab meats come down from south shields in a van without a chiller in 75 degree heat , melted to jelly , stood out in the sun half an hour , then put in the freezer . i’ve never touched a kebab since then , cheers , dave

Supermarket own brand baked beans. I once worked in a canning factory that made baked beans for the supermarkets and my workmate used to have great fun timing how long it took his grolly that he spat into the sauce vat to drain down the vortex.
Twas a daily occurence!

I would not buy any thing to eat if " muckaway" was serving at a stand up

Any baghouse that Vas has frequented

I wouldn’t buy or eat Apples. I have a strange phobia of them. I hate the way they make my teeth feel when biting into them and I can’t stand the noise it makes either. Cringing thinking about them ugh!
