Anyone running Greece?

Anyone happen to know who is running to Greece from the UK ?

cheers

We have had a couple go there in the last few months, Don’t know if anyone does it regularly, there is a forwarder in Belvedere who does a bit, can’t remember the name at the mo.

bradclyde or( ronnie and reggie), how ever you look at it do greece but they are agents they would know what lads are going over

When i used to do it regular, it was done thru a firm called Sea-Land-Air from Silvertown, they specialise in Greece.

dont know if they are still going but there was a company called velos(?) from london who did it i believe, although as i have not seen them for a while they have probably gone bust or sold out or something

someone posted elsewhere that they go regular to greece, no idea who the company was though, think it was somewhere in this euro forum

I heard recently that PTM are doing a lot of Greece lately, whether or not its true i dont know. I do know they have an Ex Pulleyn’s Transport Manager in the office, so its quite possible

this summer when we got back into italy i saw a stobart heading towards the docks, im guessing to get the ferry across o greece, do you know what i cant rmember where we shipped back into!!

Saw a Velos trailor recently, though it did have a bulgarian unit on the front though!!! :unamused: They were based in manchester somewhere, may just be O/D`s only now though.

Try Anglo-Greek…

Down in London but again not sure if they have drivers or just use O/D`s!

Davies Turners probably still ship out regular, they might be able to point you in the direction of some O/D`s who may want a relief driver or something!!

Let us know what you find…though dont shout to loud or everyone will want a go!!!

Forgot this lot…

If you dont mind ■■■■■■■ furniture, they get around, do abit to the Greek islands as well  :sunglasses: :sunglasses:

I think RH took over velos when they bought out enterprise in Thurrock (although i may be wrong)
Stobarts did a few down to greece over the last year, or it may have been the rally team you saw euromat?

I can’t be the only one to have met and nattered to Maurice on the boat, he and his company do Greece, but I can’t remember the company name - Anyone ? They’re based somewhere in the midlands IIRC.

No mate, all XF’s he said.

There is a person who posts on here, JJSL, I think, reckons his company do Greece weekly going overland though, not using the ferries. Might be worth a PM!!

dont think it was the rally team JB, it was a curtainsider (unless they have any on the team?) there was only the one, didnt see another until i hit belgium i think.

there was a couple of montgomerys waiting on the docks too when i was there (i was going through some old pics last night and saw them!)

Just recently I have noticed a lot more Bubble trucks driving in Europe and in the UK.

Kindle. I worked for Sea Land Air for a while too. Do you remember the fish market neat the Pireaus office, there were some wierd looking critters for sale.

The boss was always pleased to see you there though with a cup of muddy coffee and a big handful of Drachma for the return trip :stuck_out_tongue:

I never went to the Pireaus office mate, as we allways ran back empty to Prato to load at Alpi, (apart from a few times loading melons in the fields for London)
I do remember the fish bar in Patras from the first trip i did to Greece in around 1995. When i started the S-L-A job in around 2002, it was undergoing conversion to a burger bar. Thats another piece of history gone, as it was a well known place amongst UK drivers.

Yes. That fish bar was brilliant. I was first taken there by a German driver from a company called Meyvissen. I have asked before but no one remembers them. They ran blue and white Volvos on fridges

Thank you for all your replies lads…i"ll try a couple out amd let you know how i get on :sunglasses:
