Anyone in thier 20's driving?

Im 24 years old, passed my test when i was 22, and i enjoy it. Most people i speak to think i have done well getting my test and doing the job i do, and the money i earn.

Aaron

nearly 26, passed at the start of '08 (class 2)

Had a rough time trying to get the class 1 but ran out of funds on the third attempt.

Now driving pretty much anything for various agencies, I love the job but hate some of the s----- jobs I keep getting, like multidrop in a van, I just sit there and wish I was in something about 8 times it’s size.

Sooner or later I’ll get a full time job though and hopefully I’ll finally get that C+E sorted. Bloody miserable examiners :imp:

What’s the market going to be like when i can drive, beter or worse?

I hope so

I’m 28 and been class 1 since I was 21. I only started driving for the money :sunglasses:, not through a love of HGV’s and it pays a fair bit better than being a farm manager :imp:

When I grow up I’m going to get a proper job

Im 29 . been driving class 1 for 3 years. Oh the joys!

Currently suffering in the curent down turn . Agency work isnt to busy at the moment.

im 24 and i love it. its great for looking down females tops at the lights!

So your the truck driver i keep having to blow my horn at then the lights turn green back to red 5 times before you move… :imp: :exclamation:   :stuck_out_tongue:

No, that will be me :stuck_out_tongue: At my age even a glimpse of a wrinkled stocking makes me come over all unnecessary.

Me and my mate had this same conversation on Monday, about none of the young ones want to drive trucks. He has had to go on a 7.5 tonner because of Diabetes but he couldnt fill the job with anyone decent before that.

Im not ashamed that I have been in haulage since leaving school.

It will be a decent job in 30 years when we are all dead  Well thats what they told me when I started.

I paid for my eldest lad (who’s 23) to get his class2, purely because it would give him something to fall back on in the future, just as I’ve done in the past. He does weekend agency work to see him through uni, however, with the current climate he’s not too inclined to go for his class 1 & my younger son, who also had the same offer of getting his LGV, has decided he’d prefer to stick to barwork to see him through…

Ex army.

Cars, forks and class two at 17.

Class one, buses and bikes at 18.

22 now, working class two and the occasional class one on the agency.

23 next week, apparently it’s the magic number for class one.

We’ll see.

My mates are all plumbers and electricians on 25 - 35k, they think I’m daft but I love it. I was born to drive.

Im 25, been driving a year now. I sure hope there’s a big shortage to come, will put a few extra quid in our pockets.
