£50 in a card.
Only been here 4 months so was happy with that.
Previous job was there 13.5 years. Never got a thing.
Starting driving class one in 1988 doing local then UK/Ireland groupage and fridge work until several years ago, did a little bit of continental work but didn’t fancy it. I did very little driving for ten years after retraining as a Computer Engineer but kept license up to date. I now work for IT company three days per week. I drive odd weekend for Sawyer’s to GB and freelance to others when I like. Got no bonus from Sawyer’s at Christmas. Mind you, I don’t think I am spoken off fondly in the office as I often turn trips down. My IT employer gave me £1200 bonus two days before Christmas, very generous I know. Driving for some companies is thankless but when you don’t rely on it for a living and can choose when to drive it is fine. I was in my forties before returning to education and so glad I did it. Still like to drive but on my terms. Happy new year everyone.
Now I only have 5 staff including drivers most are family , I gave them each a card with £250 in plus I txt them whilst on the xmas break to say a big thank you for the work through out the year ,all replied except one , I hear on the grape vine he wanted more than £250 !!! , he get £150 next year in vouchers I also offered to take them out for a meal etc as long as they sorted the venue out but No one did .
I thought I was a nice boss ,seams I must be Not .
Jakey with generosity like yours, all I can say is are there any jobs going ?
I got the best xmas present ever , after a lung cancer op in September , I was just signed off all clear by the surgeon , heres to next year . Beats all the money in the world . Dave
