Ive got choice of just touching pads on discs , or torpedoing over handlebars .

Evil has maxxis high rollers on there too . he is not going to run out of grip . tarmac , mud or rocks .

My first experience of disc brakes on a bike was in Germany, no body told be they are on the opposite side to normal over there, first junction I come too, pulled left lever to slow, front wheel locked and I went straight over.
As far as I know disk brakes on bikes were developed in the first instance for mountain bikes, there use on road bikes is more recent.

I’ve only ever offroaded with discs once. It did not end well! In fact, if I remember right, after they’d clogged up, the bloody things ended up warped!
Nothing wrong with properly set up blocks, even with a road bike.
I’ve been reading that the professional road racing teams are looking at using disc brakes, some manufacturers have been trialing them. The results of them using them will usually decide how popular they become on road bikes.

Only 2 issues i can see :
Genesis is not a bling brand . has no street cred . if i wanted a steel frame hardtail for that money (£800+) would have gone down orange or merlin route . they both english too .

RRP on the LT model is £1,500, and that doesn’t include the pedals! 
I paid half that as my mate owns a bike shop, and I have access to his Madison/Sportline account! 
As for the mudguards, I don’t give a flying **** as long as my back/arse stays dry! 
And if you are only spending £800 (RRP) on say an Orange, you won’t be getting much of a fork for that money…

you have to either, get in the way, or out of the way, it is unlikely the following would have happened to terry
That’s me rumbled! My cycling days ended when I was hit by a gritter a few years ago. Smashed my hand to pieces!

Yup . on a blind bend with solid white line down middle road positioning is excellent .
Any following vehicles will be able to overtake properly on other side of road when forward vision/white line allows .
Can only assume controversy is something to do with Terry not having old woman mudguards fitted .
These seem all the rage with people who paid far too much for their Halfords special on here
