I kept it cyrptic!
‘He risked his own life by his own actions, I saved his life by being aware of him before it was too late. No need to thank me.’
There are a great many cyclists who are only still on this earth because the car/van/truck drivers in their vicinity have been more interested in the cyclists wellbeing than the cyclist themselves. They really truly don’t see anything wrong in the asinine stuff they do.

+1 Yep
Ive asked our two biggest mouth piece pro-cyclists who spew out umpteen statistics about incidents involving cyclists where the vehicle was at fault many times in the past how many times an incident is avoided due to the driver being alert ans aware the cyclist was going to do something stupid. Strangely enough, they have both never given an answer.

But he would have plenty of time to study the Highway Code from his hospital bed if that had been me in the truck …
This is obviously a popular topic on here, three different threads on the same event following on from the original one a few weeks ago.
Having had many a close encounter with motor vehicles over the years I’m surprised it came to mild fracas in the street, usually they drive off or I cycle away, which makes me think “what happened before”. Now I’m not having a go at the driver but you only get the incident from his static camera, starting from when he wanted it to start. It’s just a pity that the cyclist doesn’t have a helmet cam to see his version. On that note, why is a camera in the cab a good idea for the driver, to prove what happened, when a cyclist with a helmet cam, presumably for the same reason, is looked upon as a “Lycra clad camera warrior”?
While I’m on I’ll say thanks to all the drivers that have gone out of their way to keep me safe on the road despite myself, even the three that have knocked me off because “sorry mate I didn’t see you”, close brushes too many to count, including last Wednesday’s tipper driver that got so close he put dirt on my shoulder while doing 40 in a 30 zone, just to get to the red traffic lights ahead first.
Lastly to the “members” that “would have put him in hospital if it was me” you are the true bellends.

I think if you read the original thread on here before the daily fail picked up on it there was a full explanation and even extra footage from well before the incident happened.

.
Well they have finally found an errant cyclist, or at least an idiot on two wheels that barely resembles a cyclist, 10 years in the waiting and finally they have found a complete fruit loop, so presumably we are going to get an action replay every week until the end of time.
But what has never been proved beyond any form of doubt is; could the bad tempered ejit on the bike be a tipper driver on his day off ■■? think about, that scenario would fit well.

Hi Billy, I am the driver. The reason for the camera is quite simple, in the event of an accident it will prove (even if only to my boss) who was at fault. The camera is mine as I value my license.
Imagine this, the phone at work rings and some numpty on a bike says that I tried to run him off the road and when we got to the lights he started to beat me up. Who is my boss going to believe? After this incident, my boss has now bought cameras for all their vehicles.
I do have footage from before this but it only shows me leaving the yard and getting to the lights. No other incidents took place and the first I saw of the loony was after I set off from the lights. It does make me chuckle when folk say ‘Ah but what happened before’ I started work four hours before this took place, you are welcome to scour the footage if you want to.
Generally I don’t really care about cyclists holding me up, I get paid by the hour but this knob put himself in a stupid place and the last thing I want to do is tell his wife/kids/parents that there was nothing I could do to save his life. I was angry as we were driving along but after I got out and he let rip, I just wanted to calm him down. I wasn’t in danger, he wasn’t in danger.
The conversation went along the lines:
Him- I’m going to do you
Me- Listen pal, calm down
H- Your f%$#ing having it
M- Have you finished now?
H- No, I’m going to batter you
M- Are you done now?
H- you pri&k
M- (leg sweep and pull down) Stay down you fu#$ing knob
Hope this clears it up for you. Any more questions?

I’ve no reason to doubt your version of events at all, why would I when I wasn’t there. You have to admit though that it is very unusual for, what appears to be, a daily occurrence to end up in handbags.
As for the camera I’ve no problem with those either, we have them fitted in our trucks. My point is that, while its a good piece of kit for the truck, when a cyclist has one they are seen as nutters, why is that?

If you have no reason to doubt then why say ’ what happened before’ and ’ only from where he wanted to start it (the video)'?
I would think that most drivers use cameras for the same reason as me, for protection of some sort. I feel that most cyclists use theirs to show their place in society, as they are often loathed in their lack of road sense, common sense, arrogance and stupidity. Most of this is brought on themselves by their own actions. Very few motorists fix a dashcam in their vehicles and then use the roads with total disregard for others and post the resulting footage online
I would like to think the cyclist nutters creating dramas with their cameras are few and far between but there is a larger gaggle who choose to squeal at every non event just to justify camera ownership and pad out their youtube channel.
In this event kudos for bringing the cyclist round to the camera so we can watch the idiot in action. Theres no justification for throwing the first punch especially as the cyclist was obviously outmatched.
Ive dropped bollox on my bike and been hungout to dry by being on the wrong side of traffic but its no big deal and theres no point blaming someone else for my own misstake.
What we have here is just a novice cyclists who may have believed to much of the pro cyclist hype that goes on to think he can get away with this crap outside the capital.
His arrogance and rage where writing cheques that his fists couldnt cash, perhaps tired from peddling like the clappers didnt help but the reality check of this incident should make him a better cyclist.
