Does a Tomtom satnav like to send you down country lanes and under 11ft bridges even though you have put a 37ft trailer and 15ft high in the dimensions ?, I’ve got one of them cheap sat navs from eBay so just wanted to compare if the expensive ones like to send you under small bridges etc
My Tomtom Trucker 6000 is pretty obedient with truck restrictions. Occasionally it tries to send me down weight restricted roads because it doesn’t seem to know about them, but I’ve not had any issues with bridges yet.
At risk of being pedantic, they don’t ‘‘SEND’’ you anywhere mate, they ADVISE a route, and you as a pro driver decide if it is suitable or not .
The guys who get stuck under bridges and wedged in lanes are SENT, well that is their usual defence anyhow.:

Ok, if you say so, glad you like it, …I think

Don’t be so hard on yourself son.
Btw this forum is for grown ups, personal attacks just show immaturity and lack of vocabulary…as illustrated by your post.
I was merely pointing out that many drivers rely on sat navs far too much, in some cases 100%, and those that do usually come unstuck, and that your terminology (look it up) suggested that this may or may not be the case.
So I am sorry but I assumed I was talking to an adult.
If you have an educated adult response, let’s hear it, but I won’t hold my breath.
Night night x
Why is it always you upsetting people Robroy?
You can say whatever you want, but at the end of the day your coming across as a complete ■■■■ night night knob head

It’s a knack I’ve acquired.
Thought I made a fair point tbh, to attract some healthy friendly debate, on the pitfalls of sat nav misuse, but he went straight for the old ‘‘You’re a prick’’ option.
Can’t win em all I suppose.
Really off to bed this time,

And that is your adult educated response?
Must try harder
Very intellectual.
Point proven I reckon.
Sleep tight x
I’ve got one of these lorry Tom Toms ,can’t work out where to press so it’s back into the box under the bunk ,and the map box is back together with the maps I saved from from the bin that my brothers were chunking out .
really a new boys answer lol
Under 11ft bridges even though you’ve put in a higher trailer height…no
Down country lanes that are single track and down tight residential streets that you could never turn left or right out of at the other end when you’ve put in your dimensions…yes, and it’s very annoying and it has pretty much decided it for me that I won’t bother with another truck sat nav.
I’ll use a cheaper car one, or free Google sat nav on my phone and use my atlas and google street view for bridge heights.

To be honest doze mate, it’s irrelevant that I’m probably older than him, as are his child like replies, but Cheers anyway bud.
It’s a pity the post where he called me a ■■■■ has been removed as it kinda proved my point what an immature, uneducated, socially inept little chap he is.
The days when being an idiot disqualified you from holding a HGV licence have long gone, and the rest of us unfortunately have to share the roads with these guys.
The point I was trying to make (if anybody still cares ) was if drivers rely on sat navs too much, to the point of them instructing you,… or ‘sending’ you (his words) , rather than using them as advisory, they inevitably come unstuck.
After this happens, their defence is often ‘‘Well my sat nav sent me down here’’ that’s what I was trying to put across.
He obviously found this concept difficult to grasp, and rather than come on and make an alternative intelligent differing point (being a forum) he chose to come back, show himself up even more, and call me a ■■■■, …(which is probably more appropriate to him for his evident level of intellect.)
Maybe it was a raw nerve and he has actually come unstuck himself in the past, who knows…who cares.
Anyway if I’m a prick, knob, knobhead, ■■■■…(removed ) according to somebody like HIM, I reckon I can live with it mate.

You sure he was talking to you pal?
Who else was he talking to, I was the only one that got abuse
Unless what’s his face is older than me, and I’m the boy.
I have a car tom tom and tbh,it’s absolutey useless.
Apart from the last half mile or so.
If you’re scared to leave the motorway…stick to supermarket work.

And since 'twas I who made the original remark I am happy to confirm that you were…
In my defence, I did say “…tries to send me…”, but as you say because I am a professional driver I know to ignore it in those circumstances and drive with my eyes and brain instead.
Perhaps we can settle for “tries to send” equaling “advises” and all be friends again. Happy days.
