Couple of Fly by Nights in the video

As long as Reading stays dry and all the stages stay up next week I’ll be alright

at 16 seconds part of the stage is on one of the fly by nites

Saying four dead at least.

Got a mate who wants to know ASAP if the Fly By Nite drivers are ok . ■■? He’s on another tour and can’t get any info

Over the past summer, outdoor festivals have been plagued by bad weather that has caused multiple stage collapses. Now, Pitchfork reports that Chicago power-poppers the Smith Westerns were at the Pukkelpop Festival in Belgium earlier Thursday (Aug. 18) when the stage they were about to play on crashed to the ground.

While details are still unfolding, Yahoo! News – citing Belgian media outlets – has confirmed that three people (not four as was previously reported) have died and at least 71 people have been injured.

Just before the concert, singer Cullen Omori tweeted “Looks like it’s going to rain.” Several minutes later, Omari returned to the site to report the collapse and the band’s gear had been destroyed.

“Stage collapsed max almost got crushed by the tress. I hope pukkelpop has insurance bc all our s— is broke.” Cullen then followed with “Praying no one got hurt. Wtf.”

“We had just finished the first song of our set at Pukkelpop when the stage/tent started shaking and simply thought it was a storm passing through,” frontman Omori said in an official statement. "I made a comment about Cheap Trick and we were about to play the next one when our tour manager yelled at me to run off the stage. Right then the tress collapsed one foot in front of Max. At this point we thought only the stage broke, not the tent.

“Amid the chaos it was hard to tell exactly what had happened, but after the rescue teams started coming in it became clear that there were severe injuries and we are now being told there are reports of multiple deaths. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families who lost loved ones in today’s tragedy.”

Am trying to find out at the mo through personal contacts, will post straight away if I get any reliable info.

Thankyou Harry , just tried the office and one of the gaffers mobile number but can’t get an answer ( understandable under the circumstances )

Just had a phone call, obviously this is unconfirmed but reports are that all those killed were festival goers, not stage crew. Will post with further info if any.

The Chateau stage at Belgium’s Pukkelpop festival, near the town of Hasselt, was apparently destroyed when bad weather caused trees to fall over. A second stage collapsed but it is not thought to have fallen on any concertgoers. Some giant screens also fell down.

[The Telegraph]

drivers are fine shadey, got one of our guys parked in beside the fbn guys where it collapsed but hes alright

dunno bout the truck though

All the FBN boys are ok.Bit of damage to some of the trucks, but that doesn’t really matter. Condolences go to those killed and injured. One of the best organised festivals in Europe, and it would appear to be an
‘act of God’ rather than any fault of the stage construction, etc.
