Can’t say fairer than that [emoji23]

not exactly overly welcoming but if i worked in goods in,then id likely have the same attitude or worse.
on the basis that they dont care about anything other than their own job, then rightly or wrongly, who wants to listen to some moaning whinging driver every five mins when you dont give a toss about them in the first place, and all they are is a contstant irritation in having to deal with them.( even though thats your job in the first place).

I get it and…

Fully understand why it’s there.

If the next drop is gonna be late, it’s your bosses problem not yours.

Same thoughts here !
I’m paid to get the stuff there in one piece and the truck and trailer still on all 12 wheels

Now translate it into every EU language, bearing in mind it is those with a lesser command of English that are most likely to be pushing for an early tip, having turned up some 9 hours early for their “window”… :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue:

Can’t really criticise too much.

I imagine this warehouse isn’t particularly well known for quick turnaround times, something which ultimately is nothing to do with the bod sat in the goods in office. The never ending procession of “how long is it going to be”, “i’m running of of hours” and “i know i’m 4 hours early but it’s only 2 pallets” from drivers who probably aren’t of the most polite or nicest smelling variety must start to grate very quickly.

As a general rule of thumb, I have found that a serving hatch with a closed window is normally a bad omen if your hoping for a quick tip.

this typifies the bravery of most goods in staff behind security glass…

human nature at its best.

I’m 99% sure Iv seen this confirmed somewhere that it was in America and the company quickly got it sorted and issued an apology

They have a point if drivers are turning up demanding to be tipped right away just because they are running out of hours or have another delivery but in my experience (limited as it is to most on here), these same places will think nothing of shrugging their shoulders and saying “tough” if you arrive on time and they keep you waiting past your booking in time

Whilst i understand the reasons why someone has put this sign up, it’s another case of have a go at everyone because a vocal minority of wingeing whining wheel attendants make a bloody nuisance of themselves.

Yes sign bod is cheesed off with them, what he doesn’t realise is so are the rest of us, so that sign whilst meant presumably for the moaners and chancers is also antagonistic against the majority of drivers, who accept that particular delivery point is the last stop between purgatory and hell and manned exclusively by a miserable arse.

I also concur with the sign , they are correct in putting it up , they got fed up with drivers telling lies about the drop before they arrived and will be late for the next several drops , only for the moaning driver to exit the site and have a break in the first layby .
You get drivers going on about how the boss stitched them up , and will be late for the dentist or the meal the wife has booked for an anniversary .
It is not the goods in staff fault if you are or will be out of hours , bullying them in to you jumping the queue .

“Me running out of time on your bay and taking an 11hr leaving you with one less bay to use is your problem” I believe is the right approach to this.

Nothing to stop them saying that if you don’t have time clear off and rebook.

well theyre all sauce and no bottle as soon as the fence was removed and they could reach each other…just like a goods in window?

How about ‘rate your tip’ to help improve the experience?

I could imagine some places over here giving out ‘banned from site’ for a bad 1 star review.

It wouldn’t worry the big gun supermarket suppliers and the supermarket RDCs. The only thing that would is universal charging of demurrage by hauliers, but thats a total pipe dream.

I think it’s a different kettle of fish in the states. I might be wrong but I think if the wheels ain’t turning, the driver ain’t earning. So od’s might turn down jobs to sites that get bad ratings. Having said that, I stand to be corrected… often.
