Annoyed with Truck Driver

Hi new to site, and a big fan of trucks and respectful of them on the road.

Being manager of a rather busy service station on a dual carriage way in essex i have a good bit of chats and bit of fun with lots of regular truck drivers who come in to refuel on daily basis.

yesterday i was really angered by a lorry driver who seemed totally oblivious to the size of his vehicle, the kind of road he was on ( A very busy arterial dual carriage way).

he decided he wanted a bottle of coke for his journey to where he was going. rather than pull into service station, he stopped on the dual carriage way. not a lay by or anything like that. He just stopped… causing a massive tail back in the lane he had stopped in. He did not seet to care that he had just caused a massive traffic jam behind him. Even other lorry drivers where honkin there horns in annoyance… if it where emergency i would understand. but he didnt use toilet… he didnt seem in a hurry to get his lorry moving again… Very annoying to see this amount of total disregard.

If the driver is on this site. That was a really poor piece of driving… if it is you profession surely you should have much more courtesy and awareness of what you are doing.

I am totally shocked by this. I mean Coke? Pepsi is way better, what the hell was he thinking. :stuck_out_tongue:

Im shocked too CH, who has enough money to buy drinks from a service station these days!? Had he been on the ball, he would have popped to the Tescos round the corner (other supermarkets are available).

We need to find out who he works for and get a job there, as said…" who has enough money to buy drinks from a service station these day’s. " Also enough money to pay the fines for stopping on a D C. :open_mouth:

Can only think of 2 dual carriagways in essex with service stations on- A120 and A12 - i wouldn’t stop on either lol
cheers
Steve

the driver may have wanted a coke because

he was extremley thirsty
been a diabetic and needed a sugar boost
just had a scare moments earler and took a few minutes to reflect and an exscuse to drink was it.

jumping to conclusions is easy
reality can be something different

besides i would have had 7 up

Hope the guy came out with shares to that company with his bottle of coke.

especially at there prices,

however you could always get diluted redbull from chinese markets and have a really mad adrenoline rush .

Cherry Coke

Add the A127 & A13 but I’d not want to stop on them either.

Was it defintely a UK truck? Maybe worth putting this post on trucknetPL.com, trucknetCZ.com also?

I bet you would’ve.

water or locazade sport ( still of course )

he probably just wanted the bottle to ■■■■ in so many services stations refuse to let us use the toilets

come on guys, the O/P was making a very serious point about truckers and how one idiot can give us a bad name. If there was room to pull into the service station,a nd from what the O/P said i think there must have been, then why didn’t he do it? instead he inconvienienced a large number of other road users, just to buy a coke?

Anyway Tizer is much better! :stuck_out_tongue:

Don’t be so silly there is only one choice ,

Barr’s Irn Brew , nector off the God’s

Ps , yip the guy didn’t do himself any favours BUT let’s face it if that’s the worst he does !!!

Probably the same prick who cut me up on the M25 this morning, whilst using his mobile

Might have needed to grab his power lead for his laptop that was playing a DVD, so thought it would be safer to pull over to grab it then get up to get it. Probably at the best bit of the DVD aswell.

And while you were getting all hot under the collar looking out of the shop window he stole 3 Ginster pepper slices, a Mars bar and a packet of polo mints

lucky though, could of been reported for leaving a vehicle in a dangerous position but he would of got of if he had got lemon and lime bottle of water lol
