And they wonder why morale is zero and no one wants to work

Nb - offer stands for anyone,if you are happy to cover my shifts over the new year I’ll put it too the boss, jobs easy, and if your not sure I’m only at the end of the phone, other lads will help too,pm me if you want.
I’ll put it to boss to see how he feels about it first, but a drivers a driver so can’t see the problem.thanks all

FYI, calling everyone thick is probably not the best way to get people onside, you might have been better off explaining your circumstances in the first post. That said, if the company have changed your Ts&Cs without consultation then I would be taking it up legally, check your contract. There are plenty employers that use the " just do us this favour" routine, taking th P is what it is. As I told a TM at one place a couple of years ago when told I had to come in on a day off, " bad planning & forethought on your part doesn’t mean an emergency on mine so, no I won’t be in"

Interesting reading Dozy, now had you posted this stuff in your original post then you might have had more considered responses. There is something about walking a mile in another mans shoes.

In your op you just sounded like another moaning driver for whom nothing is ever right and basically doesn’t want to work and got the response that those guys deserve.

dozy:
I don’t understand how if I agree too work 2 days over time I can then have a day off over Xmas,I mean it’s a 24/7 operation,Xmas time, all hands to the pumps, but agree to 2 days over time and none of it matters, you can have the day off, makes you wonder doesn’t it :unamused:

As you’ve explained in another post, they can’t get drivers. I’d assume they’re using it as a bargaining tool to make sure they get some.
From what you’ve also said, you’ve had a few life experiences that make you want to change the way you work/live. Anyone can tell from your posts that you are unhappy there now. If it was me i’d just leave before it made me ill or got me in trouble. You appear to be staying and trying to get them to do what you want them to do. Good luck with it.

And every driver that slagged him off as another moaning driver jumped to the wrong conclusion… Quick to condemn here…

Yes, he should’ve said. But try to remember that drivers often have a reason… If you can be bothered to find out what it is.

You can have New Year’s Day off but you have to agree to work 2 o/t shifts in return, :exclamation: :exclamation: :exclamation: :exclamation: :unamused: you won’t,request refused then :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp: [zb]

i was at Trafford park trying to get the lads unionised! :sunglasses: most were up for it, even had lads at Carlisle, Appleton, hawleys lane, crick and AVELEY eating out of the palm of my hand! you’ve got to stick together! all this nonsense about " no holidays in December bollox! " :grimacing: you’re entitlement is for twelve months, same as Theirs! all you lads need to NOT TAKE ANY LEAVE AT ALL! Until the death then you’ll all HAVE TO TAKE YOUR LEAVE AT THE SAME TIME! :sunglasses: there are MANY WAYS to skin a cat! :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing: some lads have been to court and won THEIR HOLIDAY PAY to which they were entitled to AKA previous twelve weeks average! :grimacing: you need to stand up TOGETHER, not as the case at Trafford park where the lads TALKED A GOOD FIGHT IN THE BREW ROOM! :unamused: when it came to it they bottled it and now management SACK THEM ONE BY ONE! :bulb: whereas if they’d stuck with what the union was trying to achieve they’d be sitting pretty with TM NUMBER ELEVEN REMOVED FROM POST! :grimacing: :grimacing:

His own previous advice to people used to be shut up and and get on with it. He was also very happy about working for Stobbies as it …“was a job for life”. I havn’t got any wrong conclusion, nor am i quick to condem him. Read his post properly. Its him thats changed, not his job.

“Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in his shoes. Then when you criticize him, you’re a mile away and he’s got no shoes”.

point I am making if your unhappy with it (which you obviously are). start looking for another job. don’t go to o’neils though, seen one of theirs parked up at Immingham since Christmas eve

Yes of course your right, every day seems like hard work now,I hate the work( tesco), I hate there attitude( you will or else) ,and even though my biggest problem has been sent elsewhere( upset too many drivers) I’d be kidding myself if I thought whoever came in would be any different to him and his ways.
Sawyers truck was the only truck in donny services with me on Boxing Day I think it was so ill cross them off list as well

A lot of things have happened, but I also think the change in work from feb, chilled onto tesco work every day has got to me,I hate it,alot of ours say they enjoy it it,but however much I try too convince myself it’s not that bad,I’ll get into it,I won’t ,it’s just not for me,I think it will just get more and more too me,so think w.p is right it really is time to find a job I enjoy, not hate more by the day

I think you will find that ALL stobarts yards are the same drivers vs the managers vs the planners.

I don’t understand it, they all seem so happy on the tele.

:grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing:

I’m happy.

I’m not,the thought of spending New Year’s Eve tipping trailers full of cages of food and then filling them with cages full of rubbish, sitting out side stores, tipping the crap at the rsu really doesn’t appeal to me,so many things I’d rather be doing :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp: .
And then we start all over again on New Years day :exclamation: :exclamation: :smiling_imp:
I don’t suppose it would be quite so bad if we were all in it together, but knowing you’ve had too do this all over Xmas and then new year whilst whilst some drivers of the same company sit on there asses at home over Xmas and could if they want sit on there asses over the new year does tend too wind me up.
But it least knowing this does give us something too have a bloody good MOAN about :exclamation: :exclamation: :exclamation: :smiling_imp: :unamused:

I sat on my arse all Christmas. Worked yesterday and will be finished in an hour. That’s it until next Monday. If you don’t like it, leave.

Been sat on my arse since 21st December. My new boss has asked if I can start on the 2nd January instead of the 3rd. Outrageous…
