I think maybe a change of career, become a planner and show them how it should be done !!

One day they’ll want their poxy lorry back because they are desperate. They will be telling you to take three hours as break while waiting so they can get it back. You know now what to say in reply.
dozy, you have got to get the hell out of this job.
You clearly can’t get on with Stobbies & all the shift options they have, you hate your current gig tramping & your missus is getting ■■■■■■ off with it to boot. Your going to end up knackered, depressed and divorced & it’s just not bloody worth it over a poxy driving job.
If I was you i’d be having serious discussions with the other half about whether we could cope on less money, then jacking it and getting an easy Class 2 tipper job on locals or even doing a warehouse gig. Less hours, home everynight, better quality of life. Worth it.

Go on days then
I was on day .,couldn’t keep going on 3/4/5 hrs sleep ,midnight /1a.m starts ,looking at the clock at 23.00 thinking I must go asleep ,had some health issues ,thought I was having fits ,but it was just getting my self worked up because I needed to go asleep but couldn’t ,then if you got a early finish they wouldn’t let you go home till you’d done 10 hrs ,they wanted you to empty the bins, weed the yard ,clean the windows ,I told them to zb off If I want to be a refuse collector I’d get a job with the council ,so the vindictive ■■■■■■■■ made me sit there when sense would be too let me go home and get some sleep ,evil
Honest to ■■■■ just leave. Get yourself a nice wee job in tesco stacking shelves. After all it’ll pay more than Stobarts[emoji6] [emoji6] [emoji6]
It sounds like the day work you did was dung and you arent cut out for the ups and downs of nights out.
A bit of advice for building sites. Turn up and even if they are messing you about just shrug and stick the kettle on. They’ll ■■■■ you over all the more if you make a scene.
And as for not being allowed to book a3 hour break I’d question that. I take them fairly regularly. Always paid them, nothing said. I know we work for “different” companies but I’ve never had any of the problems you seem to have. And I even did the fridges without any drama.
Dipper Dave
Luckily I’m a very considerate lover
I love it when something on here makes me chuckle. Well worth reading all the non events in drivers lives, drivers writing pish, just to get the one line of comedy gold.
Dozy-I have just noticed that you seem to have had a pop at me. Not quite sure why. I posted some exact figures for your Sat work, in order to HELP YOU OUT, as I was of the impression that you believed you would only receive around £20.
As for taking it in the ■■■, I would keep a better eye on your own.
Its normally buried in a dot com van. Along with your truck.

Ouch…meeeowww scratch scratch!
Yeah-bit sharp that Rob,lol.
I will ask Dipper Dave to administer some punishment my way.
Saying that, I need to give him the gas mask back.(From my previous ‘punishment’).

That’s not days.

Dozy, Midnight / 1am start times are effectively nights, not days as they’re before the 4am watershed for WTD.
IMO 4-10am is days, 10am+ is effectively afternoons
eagerbeaver:
Dozy- Saturday day rate is £10.63. x2 is £21.26. + £22.50 night out (tax free). + £15 meal allowance (tax free ).Total £58.76. Of which you will receive just over £50 net. Not too bad for not managing your hours in the best way.
I don’t mind anybody knocking a company, its personal choice. But you should be aware of the facts before you do so.
Meal allowance for 2 hrs ?
You’re not saying your Saturday rate is £9.50/hr are you? As others have said, I’d expect circa £50 including night out, o/t etc for the Saturday alone, from what you’ve described, and I don’t think I’d be cheeky for asking?!
On the radio today Lidl are first to start paying a living wage at a minimum of £8.20ph an £9.■■ in London. An thats all staff including shelf stackers and till operators best time for you stobart guys to jump ship before they all do. Almost the same pay for no responsibilty home every night and dont have to be fooled by a meal allowance to think your earning resonable money lol.

And you will get £8.20 when on holiday
It gets tiring after a while trying to explain Stobart’s pay. There are some on here who are very mathematically challenged.
Its really not hard to understand. £8.38 per hour Mon-Fri day rate(up to 18.00 hrs,£9.33 after 18.00 hrs). 10 hour day will pay £83.80 + £15.00 meal allowance.(tax-free). The meal allowance is equivalent to £18.00 if it were to be taxed earnings.
So it is basically £100 per day gross Mon-Fri. A bit more if you do nights. If you want to work a Saturday, its about £12.00 or £13.00 per hour dependant on time of start. Sunday is a bit more.
Trampers get £22.50(tax-free)per night on top.
Not bad for easy, clean work. But for those who cant get their head around it, or refuse to believe it, yeah. It’s terrible lol.
Stop it Mr beaver. You’ll run out of breath[emoji6]

I’m very mathematically challenged, what time does the £8.38 start, do they pay for breaks, do they pay meal allowance when on holiday, do trampers get £22.50 per day when on holiday and if you’ve been working all week how many times can you work weekends
Its quite sad to witness one of our more humourous members get drawn into the corporate bs, fairdos for defending stobbies but try and do it without coming across like an ■■■■.
Its akin to marrying the first person you have ■■■ with. Although Im sure once the honeymoon period is over the real eagerbeaver will return.
Overtime one will take the blue pill and realise they are not as important as the truck and that no matter how much arse they lick at the end of the day they are just a bum on a seat.

£8.38 starts from 6am till 6pm, outside those hours it is night rate, break are not paid, meal allowance not paid when on holiday, night out money not paid when on holiday either.
