And so the Olympics begin to take effect

I have spent the last 7 years being anti-Olympics, dreading an embarassment, a major terrorist attack, or just that we couldn’t afford it, and then I watched the opening ceremony - I was blown away, and full of pride in this country. I’ve spent the last 2 weeks watching as much of it as I could, and loved every minute of it. I even enjoyed the closing ceremony - alright, some parts of it weren’t to my taste (Spice Girls for example), but I could see the logic of having them in it.

As for the likes of Ray Davis, he’s responsible for some of the country’s, even the world’s, most loved songs - FFS Waterloo Sunset is the archetypal London Song, if it hadn’t been included in a show celebrating London it would have been a major omission.

Now looking forward to the Paralympics, and even trying to get tickets to take the family along to see some of it, and have now decided to make the effort to always see the positive, rather than the negative, in any situation. I’ll call that my Olympics Legacy!

Thats one of the best things I’ve ever seen written on here! Welcome to the positive side, its actually a really great place to be.

Luke I was well aware that there were 2 weeks of sport on and I’m sure my electricity bill will reflect this. So the olympics did benefit me too. Call it my olympic legacy.
I did watch a bit of the womens cycling and whatever Jess Ennis was in.

A lot of us who work in London were dreading the Olympics!,we soon learned to detour hold ups,due mostly to traffic lights being rephased&priorities changed etc&found traffic lighter in a lot places(Boris&TFL put the frightners on people).Enough about work,a great result for Team GB for London & Great Britain!  Rio has got a hard act to follow :exclamation:

Christ the misery and general bitterness on this forum is overwhelming sometimes. I mean Muckaway, have you ever posted anything positive? All you ever do is moan and tell us how much you hate this that and the other. And some of you want it to be a big failure? What? What freaking planet do you live on? I feel sorry for you all living such joyless lives where all you seem interested in is counting the money you earn and moaning about everything.

Im really excited about the Olympics and can’t wait for my trip to the Olympic Park in just under three weeks. Its going to be brilliant to be there with my friends for the day while the worlds greatest event is in full swing in our own wonderful country. And in decades to come I can tell my nephew (who’s 1) and neice and maybe even their children that yes I went to the London Olympics and it was amazing and tell them first hand all about it. What will you lot do, tell your kids and grandkids you spent the whole time moaning and ■■■■■■■■ on a forum? Im sure that’ll make for a great story, good luck with that.

Everyone needs to just get over the fact there will be a bit of disruption for a short period of time and just enjoy this amazing event in our own beautiful country, because we’ll never see it again

im with you bud , some folk never happy on here unless there moaning , and post olympics it was brilliant , glass half empty lorry drivers ( nowt in there heads normally ) cheer up , ya a long time in the ground people !!!

att:
And if you add to this the special Olympic taskforce, that dress in their own uniforms and have greater powers than the Police, specifically to enforce copyright conditions of the Olympic brand…We really are on the way to a place worse than Hell! Special legislation rushed through Parliament :unamused:

I really hope that Britain fails spectacularly with these Olympic Games, in the name of freedom and liberty for the comman man…It actually makes me want to do something to cause a failure :open_mouth:

Well they didnt fail… PILLOCK : )

More Olympic joy

DoYouMeanMe?:
More Olympic joy

Six more athletes go missing in London

No surprise there then.Probably already had a council house and benefits package lined up in the commie repuplic before they even got there together with the ‘flexible’ visa terms. :unamused:

Oh no!
