An easy way to get grease off a catwalk?

Is there an easy way? You know where you’ve been off a few weeks come back and there is grease troddin into your catwalk, baby wipes take grease of lines and bodywork a treat but doesn’t seem to work on the catwalk.

Only way ive found is autosol and a good bit of graft! Im looking for a miracle old wives tale if possible :grimacing:

We use an acid based product called Alibrite , but its no good if youve got polished ali as it comes up with a dull finish. does get the grease off though, just spray on and jetwash off

Close up with a hot jet wash.

Ken.

Dry cloth or paper?

Or get a life? :unamused:

use a hand brush with neat TFR - its like Ali cleaner but readily available
cheers
Steve

alibrite doesn’t shift grease, alibrite just shifts aluminium

A cup of diesel or petrol and a paint brush would do more good

Ive got a life mate, just don’t like having to dodge grease stains with my boots and dragging it in the cab - you got some sort of problem with that? If you think im a polishing fairy just shows you cannae judge a thread by its title. My unit is clean not polished

But im grateful for your pointless contribution, paper hhmmm :unamused:

WD 40

Actually the first part of my post was quite serious, dry paper and cloth have an absorbant and slightly abrasive effect and will get a surprising amount of stuff of many things (despite it seeming surprisingly simple), with minimal effort.

The second part was having a laugh at your expense (after all YOU were the one coming onto a mainly male forum asking for cleaning tips), maybe give the dry cloth or paper a try before mocking it (or paying for something flashy and ineffective).

Spanners and or a socket set. Swap it for another catwalk when no ones looking.

do what i did… polish it :smiling_imp:

Give him your number, I’m sure he will let you polish the grease from the catwalk for him.

Gunk and a stiff brush. Easy to wash off after. Not tried it on 5th wheel grease, but it’s good on engine grime!

as Wheel Nut said… Listen to the man.
