An easy way to get grease off a catwalk?

Gunk is nasty stuff and will eat many rubber/plastic parts, as has been said, diesel/parrafin/cheap WD40 will shift the grease in short order & a quick wash off with a bucket of soapy suds (fairy is best) to wash that stuff away.

try Oil (any Mineral oil) or diesel, brush it and wash it down

We use an acid based product called Alibrite , but its no good if youve got polished ali as it comes up with a dull finish. does get the grease off though, just spray on and jetwash off

alibrite doesn’t shift grease, alibrite just shifts aluminium

A cup of diesel or petrol and a paint brush would do more good

Albrite cleaner shifts grease .

Whatever.

Have you ever thought of getting some jigsaws?

We use Albrite sprayed all over cat walk and lines to shift grease , but thanks to your excellent detective skills I will now ask our wash guys to stop ASAP.

Leave it for the next driver! :unamused:

use a bit of diesel on it

We use brake cleaner at our place on the shunter, as someone has said it’s probably not that good for rubber etc, but we use it regularly on the catwalk and on curtains that our numbnuts’ have dragged their fifth wheel under :unamused: :imp: (trailer curtain, obviously. I wouldn’t recommend it for cab curtains  …although, that said, i managed to sponge some grease off my jumper sleeve with it the other week!)

Forget asking your wash guys, go and ask your wife. You are obviously not a new man who washes up and changes the baby.

Ask darling wife if she uses a solvent/detergent or domestos/bleach to wash the pots?

Do they spray acid or alkali on a leaking oil tanker at sea?

Look I made you a jigsaw to explain your lacking schoolboy chemistry!
