Saturday job in tescos
Estate agent
Summer job in ibiza then corfu bar work and enticing drunken lager louts and laddettes in to bars
hgv driver
Alongside all this ive bought and sold anything where theres a chance of earning a pound note as my mum says i could sell snow to an eskimo.

I did a summer in Ibiza too, it was the summer of love, part 2, went for two weeks, got wrapped up in the music and disco disprins and came back 5 months later with a pregnant bird, it was the same one I went with, so not all bad, junior is now 21 and befitting his place of conception is a club DJ :sunglasses: still kept my job too, although I lost my Scania 111 and got a Bedford KM

I went single and came back with an embarasing itch and a trip to the clinic but thats life.
Coming home is how i got in to driving my dads a driver and i done my test and got a start with a mate of his and that was it

I started as a butchers boy got sacked, started on as a roofer got sacked after 6 days not supposed to knock the foreman out  Then to plumbing got sacked went to a concrete mold factory didnt get sacked suprise suprise
Then off to the MOD as a fork truck driver alll these jobs i hated because i wanted to drive
So it was off again to a removal company as a porter then i was put in a ■■■■■■ luton after the bosses were happy i could drive it ok it was on to 7.5tonners after a couple of years it was on to hgv 2 driver paid for by them after many years of class 2 work yes i did get over a fair bit of europe marriage and a little girl stopped that
I was quite happy doing my class2 work then my employer at the time a well known Worcester firm got me a training grant for my class1 so i have whizzing about in an artic for the last 7 years and love it

On and off, usually what happens is when Ive accumulated too many points on license I go and do something else till my license is clean again.

NO.Up untill 2008 allways in the motor trade, apprentice mechanic, improver in a BMW dealer, car salesman, back on the tools,MOT tester & mechanic, workshop controller, back on the tools again,BMW main dealer technician then ran my own BMW independant garage for 6 years untill 2008,passed class c in august 2008 then did c+e in may & been in an artic since august.

yes did a apprentiship with rolls royce, patchway, bristol as a machinist,grinder/jig borer, development machine shop, then worked at small engineering factory maching parts for old racing maseratis, then worked grinding crankshafts, camshafts, inspecting at a firm who did recon engines for for/iveco etc, them moved onto aveling barford and machined axles, gearbox parts, suspensions for there 30/40/50 ton dump trucks/graders/rollers etc.later they diversified when wordsworth holdings took over and i welded sliders/top plateds off of big-d fifth wheels, prison bars/doors/mini dump trucks whilst doing all the grinding on the spare parts for the old aveling barford trucks.
indentures are now gathering dust in drawer, intresting jobs all of them, well paid but not really what i wanted to do,i did my work exp at carryfast in bristol,i was offered a job working my way up to driving trucks eventually ,happy as pig in ■■■■,told dad and he said theres no way your doing a dead end job like that ,got me interview at rolls royce and the rests history, for years i worked in factory and did agency at weekend/night/then one day i walked out and have driven full time since.
i enjoyed those years but i wanted to drive a truck more, and will do till i retire

 ive had diesel in the blood since i was a kid ,mainly due to my dad operating heavy earthmovers for a living and taking me sometimes as a treat, this wouldnt happen nowadays in this namby pamby world we live in,and a bit later a friend let me travel with him in a tipper,a bedford km 2speed axle,an absolute flying machine, what memories ,i paid for my class 1 20yrs ago sometimes i get a bit racked off driving but then think back to my earlier jobs, chicken slaughterer ,foundry worker, factory cleaner,to name but a few,and then the job i do now isnt that bad,i will keep being a diesel jocky as long as the doc keeps signing the medicals,or that big lotto finger points too me lol

Was training to be a commercial pilot. Passed the first few bits and the first medical, went on to do the commercial part of the license, sent for the medical for that and they told me my eyes are ■■■■■■■ Stopped me dead in my tracks and revoked everything I’d done up till then.

Sat about on my arse for a bit trying to decide what to do, spunked all the money I’d saved up for the flying on a car and the usual stuff, got a job as a computer programmer, decided I couldn’t live with that so did the HGV course, decided I liked that and wanted to stick at it.

Now I run an import and distribution company, get to drive at least every other day when I want, and sit in an office when I don’t.

Would still have preferred to be a pilot though!

Bit of office work
Bit of factory work

ME NOW QUIT THE DRIVING 8 YEAR AGO TO WORK ON OFFSHORE CONSTRUCTION SHIPS I WAS AROUND TRUCKS FROM AN EARLY AGE, LEFT RTH-LUBBERS NEWCASTLE IN 2OO4 TO DO THIS, THE BOSS TONY TAILFORD HELPED ME ALL THE WAY I DO 5 WKS ON 5 OFF

I started out working on a farm, then did an apprentiship in agricultural engineering, left that to drive a dumper in a quarry, left that to drive a tractor on a peat moors, then started driving a wagon delivering animal feed for5 years and finally ended up at Stobarts.

started off training for the RAF, got a nasty injury in cyprus before signing up so that was off, did various odd jobs, halfords, tesco on nights, then moved into IT, worked on the closure of LDV decomissioning all of there servers and network, then moved onto exhibition work, running events at the gadget show, motor show and all of the county fairs on behalf of clients such as lotus, bentley, skoda and isuzu and then had enough of the variety and started my training

I joined the Navy and went to Sea, just like my Old Man.
After a chance conversation with the bloke who introduced me to this forum I got my truck licence.
Apart from a short break selling MX bikes to an unsuspecting public I’ve been happy driving Trucks for 18 years.
Al

Did my A levels, left school, worked as a fraud investigator, bit of time out of work looking after our daughter, car salesman, fleet salesman, drivers mate, put myself through my C, put myself trough C&E, 7.5t job at DHL Bar Hill, taken on by Nobbys doing multidrop on nights, now on trunking

Tractor driver, A levels, Van driver, shop keeper, degree in business, transport office manager, world tourist, transport office manager in Kenya, tractor driver again, care worker in a rehab, manager of the rehab, HGV done at last, director of a social care business, and I would rather be trucking.
