Just tipped ALDI Swindon myself this afternoon. Got there at twelve forty five for a one o’clock booking.
I was one of the last drivers in the queue to book in and I had all thirty three pallets tipped and checked off by a quarter to two.
The ALDI staff were polite and my fellow drivers (of various ages) seemed able to cope with their pallet trucks without any danger or complaint.
In fact, it was almost as though everybody there had read the OP on TNUK and was out to prove it wrong.
Or maybe, it was because most people just want to do a normal job of work without any drama or hassle and would rather not go looking for things to whinge about just so they can start a thread on TNUK?
Well said that man but if people didn’t whinge on here then others wouldn’t have anyone to disagree with or moan at
Every one has an opinion and I welcome yours as much as the next guy.
Ps I went there again and thanks to the lady on special goods in as she even helped tip me when she wasn’t busy.

You’re right LASHHGV if people didn’t start topics there wouldn’t be a TNUK.
Perhaps whinge is too stronger word? I sorta aimed my post at all the negative posts rather than just you but thats what I get for posting while I’m eating lunch…
I’m glad you’ve been again and they were okay with you, it does prove my point that most of us are just trying to earn a crust with the minimum of hassle.

What is interesting us some places site health and saftey as why we can’t do certain things that it would be a 1 in a million chance of coming unstuck with but lidl and aldi can let you to tip pallets with just a quick briefing on how the pallet truck works.
Makes you think it’s company’s using its a blanket excuse.
Bristol fruit sales also do self tip was there today tipping 22 pallets of bananas.

A bit confused reading some of these posts.
years ago I had to take Fork lift course/test/ licence in order to drive a fork truck in my companies own w/house.
I always understood this to be for company insurance purposes etc rather than a legal requirement.
Nowadays drivers seem to have licences for all sorts of ancillary equipment, i.e. hiabs etc.
So, is it a legal equirement to have a licence for a hiab, a fork lift truck, mechanical handling equipment etc?
Or are these"licences" simply written proof of being trained.
If they are a legal requirment, surely Aldi etc will be breaking the law by permitting unlicensed operators to use the equipment
