Airline pilot bigs up truckers

On Channel 5s documentary about running Stansted airport,a pilot was reporting in for duty, and mentioned that we have working hour restrictions just like lorry drivers, that would inform the clueless general public that we cant just dump our trucks anywhere.
Off topic, google the Potomac river air disaster,to see the cockpit voice recorder tape,on the cause of the 737 crashing after take off, they were snowed in,and used reverse thrust to free the plane, and followed a plane in front of theirs,so that the engine would defrost their frozen wings and engines, the pilots were working for a Floridian airline, and not used to the snow.
Another one is the KLM Tenerife disaster, nearly 600 killed,as the KLM pilot was the front man for the airline, his first officer did not want to embarass him,by saying, are you sure they told us to take off,the Spanish air traffic controllers were listening to football results, and some instructions were not made clear enough to the pilots of the two planes that collided in to a fireball on the runway.

I think you need to watch this video, there’s no mention of ATC listening to football results :unamused: :unamused: :unamused:

Aircrash Investigation also covered this accident in details and they too put the full blame on the KLM Pilot who was in a hurry to get away from Tenerife before running out of flying hours, again, there was no mention of ATC listening to football results however, they did find the radio system had not helped as 2 pilots speaking at once would cause a squealing sound, hence the reason they now use a separate transmit & recieve frequency.

I love Air Crash Investigation…Still want to be a pilot though

Have you tried a have a go session at your local airstrip, they let you try the controls,to see if you want to try the PPL,there are a series of self study books,to swat up on,remember the rugby player on the TV series called Airline,Tony something,he became a pilot for the orange parafin parrot airline.
Other than that,West Wilts gliding club, have experience days, join as a member, get some hours in,with an instructor.

It is best to buy all of Trevor Thoms books, training manuals, easy to understand reading,in plain language. There are some good flying schools in Florida, favoured for the weather, where you will convert your licence from FAA rules to the UKS CAA.

Was this aimed at me or Davey? lol

Anyone really who wanted to give flying a go,it is not cheap though,id rather do cargo planes, like fed ex or dhl,but not what happened to Tom Hanks, when he got marroned on a small island, with Wilson the football.

Why not take the Indian test? Be able to put it over the mantlepiece with your Polish HGV licence.

theres a strip by the side of the a303,before it hits the m3,looks a good one, cafe nearby too.

Bet the Indians were bumping their tails on landings.

That’s Popham Airfield…there’s also a private strip just after Juntion 5 slip round N/B M3 too. I went to florida last May to do my PPL, but it was a JAA course, not an FAA course which means if I had the money, I would have been able to fly straight away in the UK.

I’m also a B category instructor at RAF Kenley, near Croydon and used to fly at Lasham too.

Yes they are damaging the planes on landing but if you are related to a Indian policeman that’s not a problem.

Was it Popham, where some famous guy was flown out,it was in the papers a few years ago, some fraud case, memory failing me.
I have been a passenger with BA a few times, and the crew on there are so stuck up and rude, they have some sort of chip on their shoulder,a granny behind me was enquiring about her food diet order, the stewardess rolled her eyes and gave a sarcastic remark,i paid 20 quid for window seat,it was blocked out,as the booking sytem did not recognise the aircraft type or it was a con.
An experienced 747 captain,can earn £250,000 year,plus all the perks.on top.

You can get fake journalist passes in Bankok, very realistic too.

I’m not sure about the £250,000 a year thing…I might be wrong but I don’t think the pay is that good lol

Heard Gibraltar is well known for bad cross winds,a Monarch came down heavy and hard, major fueselage structure damage.saw it parked up,long cracks down the side, whoops, the P45 is in the post.

Here we go again with this Polish driving licenses myth…

You would propably not pass even the first pass of the test, even if you are experienced driver… :unamused:
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=68205&p=859962&hilit=polish+reversing+excercise#p859962

Sadly, we are also in lead not only with difficulty of the driving tests, but also with idiot plane pilots:
