Aggressive Canute driver

Had a very aggressive Canute driver tailgating me this morning up the A5 from Weedon to Lutterworth. I was behind another truck (and other vehicles in front of that so clearly no point in trying to overtake) Is there any point in phoning Canute to complain?

Na
He was just being a CANuTe

Roll on mark it off

Nope, I’ll have to have a word with the trainers in the noob section but one thing we learn is what happens on the road stays on the road.

If another drivers style offends you that much have a chat, could be a nice guy having an off moment.

Course drunk, drugged, mental drivers are another matter but it’s a judgement call.

No point phoning, just a waste of breath, move on and next time if you can cut them up just like all good members here

Should have stood on yer brakes …

I did a bit of easing off the throttle (through Kilsby) but that did not deter him. I do actually need a new bootlid and back bumper but would rather be hit by a car than bad tempered Canute artic. He did overdo the aggression coming up to the roundabout by the new Sainsburys at dirft and had to make a big swerve to the right of me to avoid collision, and after that he seemed to calm down a bit.

Never knew you were in a car so in view of that … clench yer arse cheeks

Hmm in a car is a different matter.

In a truck the aggressor will usually be worse off if ■■■■’s go skyward.

Everyone hates tailgaters, they have no ■■■■■.

Ah, a car IMO throws a whole different light on it. I detest being tailgated in my car but when it comes to the lorry I care not one bit as being the one who will twist on 18 I’m confident that they will come off much worse than me.

If you were in a queue of vehicles wtf did he expect you to do :unamused: , and even if you did overtake, even assuming it was safe, he would just have been then sat behind the next vehicle.
He sounds like a complete ■■■■ of the highest order mate.
I would usually say don’t grass him up, but seeing as …I very out of character, reported one of Stobby’s finest for harrassing my young daughter in a similar way (and got stick off some for it  ) I’ll keep my gob shut on this occasion.

I don’t know if you are a trucker yourself mate, but if not …don’t judge all of us by the actions of this prick.

Complaining about their driver would be as effective as sitting on the beach trying to stop the tide coming in. Oh hang on…

Excellent, I’m embarrassed how long it took me to get this.

I used to work for them. They WILL bollock you/look into it if they get a complaint about their drivers.

How do you know that? :open_mouth:

It’s a secret

If it was in your car you should have hung back from the truck in front by a couple hundred metres then sped up, slowed down, sped up, ect continuously, this is enough to really ■■■■ anyone off whose tailgating

Also best way of ending up underneath this type of knob head’s unit if it all goes wrong :bulb: :

He did not need winding up, he was managing that quite well on his own. And yes I am a weekend agency limper (HGV since 1979) I am not easily intimidated but some drivers would probably have been terrified. It would not have bothered me in the slightest had I been in a truck. I use that stretch of the A5 every day driving to work and the antics of other (mainly car drivers) never cease to amaze me.
