An agency has advised me to hand in notice at full time permanent job as they are moving into asda to run agency within there. They say they will be only agency asda use after Xmas & have said there’s permanent full time work for me. Does this sound genuine?
If an agency says it is, it must be true
agencies are all liars leave your full time job at your own peril
They badly want you on their books to fill the numbers but there is no guarantees on levels of work offered.
Unless you are offered a watertight contract from the agency (likely hood being close to zero) don’t give up full time work for them.
Dont believe them. and even if its true dont believe a word they tell you.
‘‘Does this sound genuine?’’
It stands about as much chance of being honest and true as Dave’s cast iron referendum guarantee or the puppet Clegg’s tuition fees apology.
Think of a politician, any politician, when an agency bod opens his trap, spivs the lot of them.

From your post, I am assuming you are a full time employee for asda. Why not wait until asda makes you redundant first, then take up the agency job. Seems daft to me to give up a permanent job for a temporary one.
When I did the green card other week I mentioned it bloke doing assessment & he did say this was happening but didn’t know how long they would last.
Don’t be daft
When pigs can fly … the minute work goes quiet … so will your phone.
As has been said … ALL agencies are LIARS. It is easy to tell when an agency is lying … their mouth moves
Assuming you take the agencies offer of employment and they loose the contract (there is always a bigger fish ), you will be high and dry ,an oral contract is not worth the paper its printed on.
I don’t work for asda. Driving skip wagons (perm/full time) but hate it. Saw this advertised on gov site as permanent & thought it might be way out.
Ask the agency if they’re using the Swedish Derogation. If they are then they have to pay you a minimum amount per week whether there’s work or not.
The only examples of “minimum pay” provided even when zero hours available actually works out with you working the shifts you don’t want on the days you don’t want - cos they’re never going to be giving you zero hours worked for 12 hours paid on a “12 hour contract” now are they? I got offered such a deal at adl morrisons when I was only in the market for nights & weekends. They wanted me to sign a 12 hour contract, and I said "12 hours guaranteed every week? weekend & nights? - Excellent! - Erm. Can’t see the bit where it mentions the weekends and nights… Could that be cos you’ll actually put me on 6am starts tuesday & wednesday 6 hours a piece at the rock bottom rates per chance?
Guys like me who ask awkward questions like this soon get shown the plastic curtains, but rarely get ripped off beyond the wasted trip to sign up for nowt.
If you’re full time, wait for them to pull out the redundancy package for you. Whilst you’re waiting, repel all offers 'cos they’re all bull. If there’s one thing worth even less than ‘QE money’ it’s ‘QE talk’!
Just ask Nick Clegg…

ITS ALL LIES…put it this way, I’d belive the govenment and anybody in financal services,or one of them people who cold call you on the phone ,before an agency…in fact if an agent told me my name I would check ,cos I would not belive them…
Kamers isn’t this your 3rd thread about this,if so are you simply not listening or do you just want to be told that it will all be ok.I’ve lived full time on agency and it isn’t fun. Its as when needed, nothing is perm and for you to think other then iam sorry you are just foolish. They have a need for you just now, that’s all.no agency worth there salt would ask you to leave full time work
2 other threads seem to be by “teabag”.
very similar though.
guess the advice given in each applies equally to all 3
Thanks del I thought they all rang a bell lol wasn’t the other ones for asda aswell
without going to check I thought all three were for ASDA and concerned a crap skip job.
Maybe 2 guys working for the same firm have seen the same advert
Hopefully, one of therm will be back today to tell us what he has decided.
Yes a troll me thinks
